JULIA Gillard might have survived another failed coup but it could still be the end of her reign with the Prime Minister's personal popularity crashing to near-record levels.
Newspoll today has Ms Gillard's preferred Prime Minister ranking falling seven points to 35 per cent - a 19-month low and just one point off her worst result ever.
Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has again surged ahead as preferred PM, rising five points to 43 per cent - leaving an eight-point gap between them.
The polling, run exclusively in The Australian today, has Labor a crushing 20 points behind in the primary vote and 16 points behind in two-party preferred.
Voter dissatisfaction with Ms Gillard has surged eight points to 65 per cent, a level not seen since 2011, and her satisfaction levels fell six points to 26 per cent.

JULIA Gillard's personal standing has crashed to a 19-month low and Tony Abbott is clearly back in front as the nation's preferred prime minister after Labor's "appalling" two weeks of political and policy failure.
Labor's primary vote has slumped five points to a disastrous 30 per cent after a fortnight ending with an aborted leadership spill and mass cabinet resignations, with one in two voters now siding with the Coalition.
The collapse in the Labor vote has completely wiped out the party's recovery in the second half of last year, which was built on the back of the carbon tax compensation, and has entrenched the prospect of a landslide vote against the ALP in the election scheduled for September 14.
After taking into account preference flows, federal Labor's support is eight percentage points below its level at the 2010 election, at 42 per cent - a swing that if replicated in September would remove about 30 Labor MPs and could even put Kevin Rudd's Queensland seat of Griffith at risk.

As the Prime Minister displays extraordinary grace under pressure, as she continues to govern the nation in the face of incessant attacks, as she shows admirable commitment and clear-sightedness, male commentators now move to deplore her toughness - an admirable quality in a man - suggesting surely that it is unbecoming in a woman. But Gillard doesn't only have strength, she has compassion and good humour. And she knows that most women and fair-minded men support her in her program of change and her vision of a fairer society.

The devastation is everywhere, the bitter hatreds, the deep division.
This split is the worst in Labor history, it won't be discussed now but will be an historic lesson for Labor in years to come. The Labor historians will dissect it & learn valuable lessons from it after this Labor party is gone, consigned to political history but Gillard & her henchmen will learn nothing.
The comparison to the failed Whitlam govt. is unfair, this present Govt. is far far worse than that, the hatreds are palpable, the failures are massive, on show for the public to see every day.
The failures of this government are not the fault of the media, not the fault of Abbott, not the fault of Rudd, the failures are squarely at Gillards feet & her weak cowardly acolytes followed her.
The present Labor lot will ignore all this, Ms Gillard is now, 4 days after the bloodbath, talking like it never happened.
The arrogance of this PM beggars belief, her head in the sand approach, her refusal to even answer a direct question was breathtaking with Leigh Sales last night.
Is this what we have to swallow from now to Sept14th?? the outright refusal to answer a question, her lying bare faced about the class war, deflecting it to the extent that she talked about school classes, defied belief.
Roll on Sept 14th.
She has destroyed a once great Labor party for what? her desperation to form govt. her lust for power to validate her knifing of Rudd, she betrayed the Australian people & now she has beheaded all the good men.

seems to look that way nero......

The comments left for the National Times piece says it all.
The phoney gender war, the class war & the politics of division.
She destroyed this Labor party for her own selfish ambition. She has no qualities for governance, no policy that hasn't failed. Her claim to fame is hundreds of thousands of re regulation, miles & miles of red tape. All this will have to be unpicked after Sept. All this housework that will bog down a new govt. for months just like Labor left for Barry O'Farrel & Campbell Newman.
All she wants is a legacy of Gonski & NDIS which have no money & will not be implemented after Sept 14th. Why? because Labor has wasted the biggest resources boom in Australias history & left us with debts of nearly $150 billion & counting.

And in NSW...... ( information especially for our wealthy resident BONDI business woman Ms shuggy (a staunch Labor voter)
Labor is dead and buried and and heading for a huge trashing in September and Labor well and truly on the nose still in NSW and no hope of coming back
All sweet as Labor sours
Premier Barry O'Farrell is reaping the benefit of corruption hearings involving two former Labor ministers and ructions over the federal leadership, according to a poll that has the NSW opposition stuck on a historically low primary vote.
The Nielsen poll reveals only 23 per cent of those surveyed would give NSW Labor their primary vote - a result that will compound fears about the party's prospects at the federal election on September 14.
The NSW Coalition's primary vote sits at 52 per cent, with the Greens at 10 per cent, independents at 9 per cent and others on 5 per cent.
On a two-party preferred basis, the Coalition maintains the advantage it secured over Labor at the March 26, 2011 state election, leading by 63 per cent to 37 per cent, a swing of just 1 per cent to Labor in two years.
Mr O'Farrell retains a strong lead over Mr Robertson as preferred premier, 62 per cent to 25 per cent - the biggest lead since March 2003, when then premier Bob Carr led John Brogden by 64 per cent to 25 per cent

A shudder must have gone through Labor re the News Poll today. News Poll usually favours Labor but this is catastrophic.
Up to a 16% swing against Labor & a loss of up to 20 seats, most of ther now front bench would be gone.
Albo will survive, he could survive a nuclear explosion, just like a cockroach :^O
And still we have PM Gillard out there acting like last week never happened, ignoring all the road signs that Labor is on the nose with voters but she's going to get up every morning & do better than the day before, well that won't be hard but will she be able to manage that without another disastrous misstep :^O

as the Prime Minister continues to show grace under pressure.....oh please stop it 😛
She continues to show a nasty streak, a vindictive way of speaking, arrogant bobbing & hand gestures, gutter speak like "bring it on" "take your best shot" "boring", like a petulant teenager & all the other slurs she mutters under her breath.
Every day in question time we see her appalling behaviour, her temper tantrums & her despicable attitudes towards the very people (the public) she should be accountable to, her non answers regarding her policies & policy failures.
She has no defence so she plays the misogynist card, the class war card, the racist card & the divisive politics card.
Well... soon she'll be playing the busted flush card & good riddance to her.

You must watch a different question time.
Do any of the others exhibit this nasty streak you speak of?
or the temper tantrums or arrogant bobbing and hand gestures (what ever that means).
Does she turn her back on people who are answering the questions asked of them?
