Labors MESS they left Australia in

We were recently reminded by the Commission of Audit of the immense challenge to restore the Budget over the long term.

Six years of Labor delivered:
  • five record Budget deficits,
  • a further $123 billion in deficits for the next four years, and
  • debt projected to reach at least $667 billion.

Today we are releasing a document that sets out in detail the legacy that Australians have been left by Labor.

While the Coalition Government did not create this mess, we are determined to do the responsible thing by all Australians.

The next step in the Abbott Government’s Economic Action Strategy to build a strong, prosperous economy will be the release of the Budget next Tuesday night.

The Government will face up to the difficult but necessary decisions to repair the Budget so that we can build a stronger economy.

It is in building a stronger economy that we can create more jobs, help small businesses and families and ensure there are more opportunities for all Australians.

Regards,

Mathias Cormann
Minister for Finance

And those poor excuses are still there, bare faced and hypiocritical, so it will be interesting to see how they can re brand themselves into credible MP's all the while for the next 3 years we are going to suffer to try to get some kind of balance back in the budget.

No matter how much the left wish and hope they will regain power it's just that, wishing and hoping while the rest of Australia are praying they never get back.

We are going to suffer for only two years, thankfully.

Wishin hoping, singing and praying, this is what labor is doing, hoping we will forget about the catastrophic disaster they left this country in.

The utter bare faced hypocrisy beggars belief, the obfuscation and denial is laughable and all we see is Bills overacting and fake outrage, no wonder his colleagues call him showbag, all show and nothing inside, a hollow man,  nobody believes him and nobody believes they could ever be trusted to govern again, after they didn't last time.

Tony's dead meat sf.He's on the nose and will remain so.Better get used to the fact he'll be peddling his lies in the private sector after the next election.Hopefully ICAC can account for a few of them before that.

Tony Abbott's legislative agenda in danger from proposed changes to Senate  voting

The Coalition, Labor and the Greens have united to support historic changes  to Senate voting laws and tougher rules for party registration in a bid to stop “preference harvesting” between minor parties.

The joint standing committee on electoral matters on Friday recommended changing electoral laws to allow for optional  preferential above-the-line voting and optional partial preferential  below-the-line voting for the Senate.

This would give voters more control over their preference flows by giving  them the option to rank all the parties above the line. It would also make it  easier for voters who choose to vote below the line, requiring them to rank only  a minimum of six candidates.

......Mr Smith said the group voting system had created "a lottery" whereby  voters selecting candidates above the line had no practical way of knowing where  their preferences were flowing.

Liberal Democratic senator-elect David Leyonhjelm said the Senate voting changes  would be “profoundly undemocratic”.

"This is a stitch-up by the major  parties to get rid of the minor parties," he said.
