Lame Excuses

Feel free to add your own.

I will start off with this one.

Young friend is going through the Family Court for a parenting plan for access to his daughter aged 2.

His ex's lastest excuse as to why he should not have overnight access is because he can't affort to buy the dauhter $120 shoes.

I suppose, at the very least, you will know that what you and his dad did, was the best you could do, the rest is up to him.

Hope it works out ok in the end. 🙂

Purple, if he is not living up to his part of the deal won't the correctional officer hand him back to the law?

That is right j*oono, every appt. he misses he gets a *pink slip*, I dont know how many he has & OH says it is only a matter of time, till he is locked up.

Unfortunately he is taking the freedon they gave him with a grain of salt, he has the attitude he can get away with anything.

If OH had his way, his son wouldnt be living with us, his mother kicked him out before the court case was heard, and the only other option was he live with OH and me and abide by what the correction officers tell him.

He knows that if they do lock him up it will be in an adult jail........and if that happens, he only has himself to blame.

When did he start running amok?

At what age did he discover neither of his parents want him?

There are reasons he doesnt get on with his mother, that I am not discussing, and the reason that his father and I would prefer he wasnt with us, is because I have health problems and my husband is my carer, we are both on age pension......he is 21yrs and would have to be the laziest person I know.

Being 21 he is suppose to be an adult, he does nothing to help my husband around our house, he does nothing for anyone, & he expects everyone to wait on him, it aint going to happen.

saying no more on the subject only that he was given an opportunity by the court to prove that he could turn his life around, well he is doing anything but that, he just doesnt care, and that is it..

It must be so hard to watch as he wastes his life away without being able to offer anything to facilitate a way to change.

Hopefully he works things out before it's too late.

Sounds like he would be very stressful to live with purple- but some people cant and wont learn until there is no other choice.

Purple

Looking at myself, in the past and now, and other boys growing up recently, lazy, yes, until we find a niche we are really interested in.

Have just seen a very unmotivated young man, has now got himself a job and is all of a sudden, motivated.
The only other thing he was interested in was playing computer games.

Does he have a hobby that he can get his teeth into ?

I understand your difficult circumstances but can someone provide some leadership
Who is also a brick wall, no compromise type ?

Good luck.

Have not read all the replies, but if mum sais a 2 year old needs a pair of shoes that cost $120, I think it is the mother who has the problem, not the father.

Good grief, how much $120 could go towards buying important stuff - books, food, petrol to take the little darling to a park or a play group.

You need a license to drive a car, you need a license to ride a motorbike, you need to register to vote, and you need a license to get married, you even need a license to own a dog.............but any **bleep** can be a parent...........sad

the bleep was for richard cranium (if you know what I mean)

He has had a very good young adult older than my s/son trying to help and guide him, but stepson just doesnt want to know.

He use to be into music, but since he got into trouble with the law, he doesnt bother.

His correctional officer is there to help him and to try and turn his life around, but it appears stepson doesnt want to. He does nothing all day when he is home, he is on the dole, he pays nothing for his use of electricity and water, hubby has asked and asked him to contribute but he spends his money on other things.

Come April it will be 6months he has been on this correctional order by the court, if he hasnt started to turn his life around by then, hubby thinks he will go to jail, as the court will know he just doesnt care.

Purps.

Just seems to me - given all the help he has been given - doesn't matter.

Think you & OH are between a rock & a hard place with this one.

Hopefully it has not done harm to your relationship with each other.
