Lance Armstrong to lose all title

This is like the biggest sports news of the decade.

Do you think this is admission of guilt?

How does this affect those that worshipped him and was inspired by him all these years?

How about the charity he was invovled with? knowing they were supported by a cheater?

Do you think Lance Armstrong is a hero and a legend?

Lance Armstrong to lose all title

Wonder how much he's getting for this interview?  I just don't get how he thought he could get away with it for so long? Embarrassing.

I think the press is jumping the gun at the moment. Oprah has not said he confessed, just hinted at it.

Interesting thought 🙂

He did make an apology to a charity though, and got very emotional during his appearance there, although he never actually came out and said he was innocent. I think his behaviour certainly leads one to believe he is guilty.

Lance Armstrong through his foundation has helped thousands with cancer.  He has given a tremendous amount not just in monetary terms but has inspired many.

The USADA have been trying to prove Armstrong was a cheat from as early as 1999 and they still do not have a reliable positive test to prove the accusations.

It's hard to know whether its true or not because some will spin any story to get themselves immunity from drug cheating.  It's unfortunate he has chosen not the fight the charges, maybe the truth would have come out.

But lets face it its been about 12 years of fighting so I can understand his decision because it would have been horrendous on a personal level.

His withdrawing from the fight does not as far as I am concerned prove that he is guilty maybe its just a redistribution of his time, money and energy into something else more important.

We may never know the truth but I do hope someday it does come out.

Couldnt agree more.  Maybe he has given up the "fight" to grasp back any sanity he has left.

Gotta love the fact that there has not been any concrete evidence shown by the media/public or even the sponsors to prove without a doubt that Lance Armstrong was involved in the doping scandal.

As far as I have seen/heard/read it is all very much been hearsay and innuendo. We have already hung him high before the Oprah interview has officially aired.

Another comment made by another posters son - why did it take 12 years to prove he was a cheat kind of makes you wonder right? Surely with all the resources available even a few years ago they  would've caught him earlier rather than later. It all smacks of a conspiracy IMO.

My gut feeling is he is innocent of these allegations.  I think he has relented due to so much pressure for him to "confess" to everything.

JD please?  your obviously a fan but seriously?  Blind Freddy can see his is as guilty as sin.

I feel sorry for the innocent parties that were beaten by a drug cheat.

UPDATE: LANCE Armstrong reportedly offered to give the US government $5 million in compensation for alleged fraud.

The day after the former Tour de France champion "came clean" to Oprah Winfrey in aTV interview about doping allegations, CBS News is reporting he also offered to be a "co-operating witness".

The US Department of Justice reportedly turned down both offers as inadequate.

Key words "alleged fraud" and "reportedly" - do you have reliable sources to offer to back up your C&P?

And the department of justice turned it down because its inadequate? How convenient and also nonsensical! Also reliable sources would be good on this one too.

For the record, not a fan at all havent followed his career, please dont make assumptions.

If he wasn't guilty then he wouldn't be coming clean on Oprah?  Whats the interview going to be about?  His innocence?  I highly doubt it.  He's been stripped of all his wins hasn't he?  If he was innocent then he would be going for defamation of character.   Apologies for the "fan" comment but I thought only a real fan could believe in his innocence.

Lance Armstrong to lose all title

Nearly a week after the news first leaked, disgraced cycling champ Lance Armstrong’s admission to Oprah Winfrey that he used performance-enhancing drugs is the worst-kept secret in sports media, but communications experts say honesty and contrition are essential to restoring Armstrong’s battered personal brand.

Last October the United States Anti-Doping Agency released documents proving Armstrong had doped, and stripped him of his Tour de France titles, prompting sponsors like Nike, Radio Shack and Oakley to sever ties with the superstar.

I would go in and bat for anybody regardless of what sport they were doing, if the evidence DOES NOT CLEARLY IMPLICATE a person.

Like I said maybe hes "coming clean" to appease all the accusers.
