Laser acupuncture for back pain

Has anyone had laser acupuncture, esp for upper back pain?

It has been recommended to me, but I'm unsure.

I've never had any acupuncture at all.

Does it work or not?

And how many sessions will I need?

Thanks Lyndal for the only sensible reply, so far.     score.gif

It can be bulk billed to medicare, so that's a bonus.

Then go for it.   It cannot do any harm even if it does not do any good.

Now if it was a chiropractor that would be a different matter...I am not convinced that being poked, pummelled and stretched does any good at all.

My brother is THE biggest needlephobe in the world. So much so, just the mention of a hypodermic needle while speaking to him on the phone was enough for him to collapse (it was always a great party trick!). Anyway, turns out he had some congenital back condition that wasn't discovered until his late 30's. We all near peed in our pants when he said he was going to have acutpuncture.

He is still the worlds biggest needlephobe but recommends acupuncture to anyone. He said it made such a difference to his back, he couldn't believe it. He thought it was all just hocus pocus, but was a convert after the first session. Down the track we may try acupuncture on Mr Tippy's neck as he's still having lots of issues with muscle spasms. Apparently it works well for that too.

Go for it. You've got nothing to lose.

I had acupunture about 40 years ago for very severe hayfever.... so severe I was like a walking zombie because of the medication I took.

I had 2 sessions and I finally got a very minor dose of hayfever this year.

it feels like a few pin pricks on your skin. it certainly didn't hurt all those years ago and it would be much improved these days.

i haven't had the laser though.

It certainly works and it was the best thing I've ever done.

Go for it!!!

Thank you all, for your suggestions.

I will have a go at it,  but first I think I need to rule out anything that might be causing

the pain.

So an x-ray and probably a ct scan is on the cards, methinks

Thanks again for your stories and encouragement
