They are sort of always in fashion, but sometimes they are really in and there is more shops selling them then.

Crystal, I thought you were thinking about fish too. If you really mean you want to buy your son a leather jacket then just don't.
When I lived in Melbourne my boyfriend wanted to buy me a leather jacket when he went to England. OMG it was just something I would never wear but I did try to. Silly blousy thing with lots of pleats.
If you want to express your love in such an expensive way then take him to the markets or a bikers shop.

Would the markets (Sydney) have good quality leather mens jackets?

Crystal. Has your son turned out to be a bikie?
Whatever, the choice of something as personal as a leather jacket should be up to the wearer. You could spend hundreds and he might just cut the arms off and stud it all out with stars and chains and stuff.
and . . . what j*oono said.

Crystal - try the mens section of Zara. The one in Pitt street had some at the start of winter and they looked really smart - bomber style but not bouffy if you know what I mean.
I wouldn't look at the markets. You'll just get badly made rubbish.

But buying a leather jacker is really hard. IT has to fit just right so you are taking a gamble.

In my experience (with a son), the recipient has to love it, it is very much an individual choice, and as some jackets are gross, it would be best if he was part of the process.
