He is allowed an opinion and free speech without having to live in fear of Islamic Muslim terrorists and have his life and family threatened 

So who else in the media will be threatened by Islam for having an opinion

CONTROVERSIAL cartoonist Larry Pickering has been placed under protective surveillance by counter terrorism police after he posted a derogatory picture depicting the prophet Muhammad on his website.

Mr Pickering was visited at home by detectives from Queensland Police on Sunday evening.

The officers, who arrived unannounced, said Mr Pickering had “upset a lot of people” and they were putting the four-time Walkley Award-winning cartoonist under high-priority protective surveillance.

“They didn’t say specifically why they were there,” Mr Pickering said.

“I guess they must have picked up some intelligence or chatter after I did the cartoon.

“They gave me their details and special phone numbers and said if I call they will be there in minutes.”

“I might be more prominent than some but we have to show that we won’t be cowed by acts of barbarism.”

Police also told Mr Pickering that other articles he had published had been “provocative”.

“I’m standing up for free speech,” he said. “If you don’t do that then you have already lost the board game.”

His local supermarket needs protection from him after he supposedly went in there, harassed the checkout person and threw a 2 year old  tanty over food items he purchased under his own free will, took home, opened and then rudely and aggresively tried to return them for a refund because they  were halal certified as shown on the labels. (hello ..shouldnt he have checked the labels before he purchased those items?)

It would require too much effort and waste too much of my valuable time to hate someone as contemptible as Pickering.

I don't think he posts here, but his thoughts and biased/bigoted quotes are often parroted in posts here (without reference as to the origin of such comments)

OP, the hate began long before this thread was started.

The source of the hate is none other than .... you guessed it, our very own (drum roll) ...... Pickering !!!!!

Take a good hard look at his hate site (if you can stomach it) - it's all about fear, hate & division.  There's nothing - absolutely nothing - in this man's on-line world that is inviting, empathetic, friendly, moderate, engaging or inclusive.  Nor does it offer feasible solutions.   It's just hate - and the targets of this hatred are sadly the same over and over again - Muslims, Julia Gillard (like some of the posters here, I don't think he's received the news that she isn't the PM), Muslims, Climate Scientists & Muslims to name a few.

Take a look at a few of the comments from his followers - sickening.  More hate.  If you attempt to insert a moderate viewpoint, you get flamed.  Badly.  But the site isn't about allowing contrary views, it's merely a platform for Pickering's hate.
