Let the hate begin-- Larry Pickering post

Watch the hate come out now because its Pickering.

He is allowed an opinion and free speech without having to live in fear of Islamic Muslim terrorists and have his life and family threatened 

So who else in the media will be threatened by Islam for having an opinion

CONTROVERSIAL cartoonist Larry Pickering has been placed under protective surveillance by counter terrorism police after he posted a derogatory picture depicting the prophet Muhammad on his website.

Mr Pickering was visited at home by detectives from Queensland Police on Sunday evening.

The officers, who arrived unannounced, said Mr Pickering had “upset a lot of people” and they were putting the four-time Walkley Award-winning cartoonist under high-priority protective surveillance.

“They didn’t say specifically why they were there,” Mr Pickering said.

“I guess they must have picked up some intelligence or chatter after I did the cartoon.

“They gave me their details and special phone numbers and said if I call they will be there in minutes.”

“I might be more prominent than some but we have to show that we won’t be cowed by acts of barbarism.”

Police also told Mr Pickering that other articles he had published had been “provocative”.

“I’m standing up for free speech,” he said. “If you don’t do that then you have already lost the board game.”

Some people do anything, just to get attention... prime example, in the opening post. The less attention, given to types like Pickering the better.

Anyone can reply to the content in any post they choose to, it is a public forum afterall.

1. Queensland journalist and cartoonist Larry Pickering says police have offered to provide him with protective surveillance after he posted a provocative image on his website.

2. A Queensland Police spokesman said for operational security reasons they could not confirm or deny whether Mr Pickering had been offered protection.

I think he needs protecting from himself. You could chuck a can of petrol onto a bushfire to show how macho you were but I doubt if anyone would admire you for it.
