Jessica I still have a stack of paper books here and many of them are very special, like sentimental books from childhood, books of verse, art.
But for general reading now i use the library to borrow ebooks and read them on my Kobo. My local libraries have a good selection and I also borrow from one in the USA. with a huge digital catalogue. I do like the feel of a 'real' book but it is far easier for me to read on my ereader where books are never heavier than the device. For years I've laid in bed reading huge tomes and the ereader is a blessing.
I still pop into the library occasionally to see what's going on though. Oh I do borrow DVDs from them.

I have the books I want, here. If I want to hold a page open with a cup of tea (and the possibility of a circular stain on the page) then I do. This is my book. I've done the Deceased Estate thing, believe me, the books that I hold to be so precious and beautiful are going to get stuffed in a box and given to charity. This is how it works, your dreams die with you. I have my technical books, I have my well thumbed histories, I have a scattered assortment of Heinleins and Asimovs that I inherited from my Father, and keep, simply, because I love the cover artwork. I don't feel the need to go to a place whose architecture, and layout, make me feel uncomfortable.
I'm going to say it, the local library gives me the creeps. The books, I'm sure are great, but the place itself makes me want to run, and keep running.
Not every wall has a shelf, and not every shelf is crammed with toys and books. Close to it, though.

Im currently reading a non fiction account
Of the Salem Witch hunts
Its amazing how many innocent people
Were burnt at the stake in those days.
All someone had to do was say
"I saw goody (add name)
Dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight"
And they were arrested on hearsay
Had a mock trial where all the witnesses told
Blatant lies to save their own skin.
Then the guilty party (or innocent usually)
Was burned and that was the end of them

I would rather rely on my library than social media for my information and entertainment

One of the best books I have ever read.
Every character portrayed - I know.

Do you use your local library?
Sure, sometimes. Not too long ago I went there alot when I was without internet to use theirs. If I need to get copies of anything, it's better for me to use the library than to keep a printer here. I own the place, actually the whole public owns it, why not use it? several years ago, I wrote a song about the library. That was back when I was writing songs about everything though.

Constantly........I check out new releases (large print), DVD's, and books on disc when I have to travel up north to the Veteran's Administration Medical Center. Our library has a web site, so I can browse selections via my computer, put in a request(s) and when notified, go and pick them up.

I tried to read this book but it beat me totally in the boredom factor.
Bryce Courteny was a prolific writer but I didn't like any of his books and I couldn't stand to listen to him windbag. I know he's dead and I;m sorry for that and I respect your right to your likes and dislikes but...the power of one. no thank you.
