Ok. So we're all staying home, wearing masks when we go out, sanitising surfaces, madly washing hands.
How else are you coping?
Had to go to the post office this arvo as I had a cpl of sales on Ebay, having to send parcels. Bloody lined up for half a block because they were only allowing 8 customers in at any given time.
Staff are all behing perspex screens. Sheesh!
How's everyone else getting along?

So I went up to Woolies to get some. The usual security gaurds at the door telling you where you can enter and where to exit. Sheesh.
Anyway, things didn't bode well when I came to the greens shelf, nut much there, no lettuce no spinach, no leeks etc.
Walked along and found 1 sad and droopy lonely little celery bunch on the shelf. Naturally, I snapped it up.
Got to the express checkout, the place was choc-a-bloc.
Put it through..$7.90!!!!!
For a sad and withered little bunch of celery!
The soup turned out ok.
Ya should have swung by my place Icy, I would have given you a bunch of celery, have more than I know what to do with atm

Terrible price for a withered bunch, icy.
You're doing well there lyhargr, with your vegie patch.
I am finding our local supermarkets seem to have settled down as far as some products go. No rush on mince any more and plenty of fresh vegetables usually and quite a few of the frozen variety too. Plenty of milk too.
I think when people see that products are not running out, they stop the panic for a while.

Growing my own veggies is really paying off atm, I wouldn't have a clue what the supermakets are charging 'cause apart from mushrooms n onions, I dont buy supermarket veggies or meat

This guy seems to have sorted it out nicely.
Socialising, but keeping the distance - and staying home.

I whisht I lived next door to you, Ly!
We could have a vege garden at our block of units, we have a nice backyard area where our clotheslines are. I've suggested it a cpl of times. But I guess we're not at that point yet. It would take all residents to take part. Some are flat out seperatiing recycables in the bins.

I had to coax the grocery delivery guy to at least open the doors and put the groceries just inside the house. With my walker in the way and only steps outside the door (not a landing or verandah) I can't use the steps and have great difficulty reaching for things left there. He did so grudgingly. As usual the bags had been filled to capacity and I couldn't lift them!
Standing in one spot while trying to separate and pack everything into extra bags I could (just) manage to carry, left me with painful knees and legs....and backache. I did pace myself but I am definitely feeling the effects and have had to up my arthritis medicine as a result.
About a week ago I ordered a delivered meal and the guy crept up to the house and left my dinner on the front door step.....which meant I couldn't open the security screen door without sending the bag flying. (The screen door issue is how I managed to convince the grocery guy to exercise some common sense and open the doors. Leaving stuff on the steps is not much use when I can't open to the screen door to retrieve them).
Anyway I stood at the doorway contemplating my takeaway dinner then I got my old walking stick and with careful aim, stabbed the bag till I could feel the concrete underneath then with MUCH difficulty managed to move some of the bag underneath the open screen door, twist it around until I could see the bag handles then loop the walking stick under the handles and gingerly get the bag around the slightly open door and into the house. Hurrah! My knees were on fire and the dinner was lukewarm but I finally managed it.
Deliveries to the door, such a simple thing and so difficult to manage the result for some. Sigh.
Your message made me realise that when you have a strong will you will get there in the end!(and made me sad too) Stay strong xx
