I just watched LIVING WITH THE ENEMY on SBS. The story about Ben the Aussie going to live with Lidia and Ahmed the muslims. Lidia is an Aussie and was raised Catholic and converted to Islam. Ahmed was born in Saudi Arabia.
What did I learn?
- Muslim women wont shake hands with a male person their not related to. (Very rude).
- When husband and wife muslims pray in their own house, the wife has to pray behind her husband. (Women are not treated as equals even in their own house).
- Christians are not allowed to visit Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Why? Because you have to be muslim to be allowed.
- Mosques can be built all over Australia but we can't build a Church in Saudi Arabia.
- The Quran tells muslims to kill people.
- In the mosque women are behind the curtain at the back. It's their own area. Why? Because the men have to be in a different section. Why? To give women privacy. This is the reason they cited. The real reason I believe is not to cause desire in the men.
- When they went shopping they visited a halal butcher to buy lamb shoulder. Ben wasn't consulted. What if he wanted pork chops?
- They went to Bondi to do an "Aussie thing called surfing". Lidia went swimming in her full Islamic clothing then when she came out of the water she placed a towel around her depicting the Australian flag.
Solved! Go to Solution.

And if there are aliens, would they not be in God's image?
So they must look the same as us. How do we know they're aliens?
God did create us in his own image but if it is to be believed, aliens are far more superior to us intellectually so therefore they must have developed independently from the God we know.

God created all life.

So there were other Adam and Eve's more superior or created earlier or who mutated into a different life forms. If we are the pinnacle of God's creation yet aliens are more superior than us then they CAN'T have been created by God...

Wouldn' t that create a paradox or even be dimissive of all that the Bible has told us, if there were life on other planets (even though we are told that THEY have already discovered us and have visited numerous times)

No I don't think it creates a paradox. I don't believe that earth is the only location of life. I think we have other life on other planets. Look at earth we still don't know for sure what creatures live at the bottom of the deepest oceans. Those are life forms too.

Look I don't wish to be mean to you, you seem like a nice person, but really you can't have it both ways. Either there is life forms on other planets less superior than man or there is a race of aliens superior to us that dispels what the Bible has told us (as if there was a universal God they would already know who/what we are and no need to study us)

Well I suppose the Biblical descriptions of angels, as opposed to depictions in Renaissance paintings , certainly would look like scary aliens

You are talking twilight zone stuff, we don't know all this yet. I was baptised at birth Roman Catholic. I worked as an altar boy and went to Catholic school so that is what was indoctrinated into me. I believe that earth was not the only creation of God.
Why wouldn't aliens not want to study us? They too are probably unsure of their origins. It is impossible to know right now until we have a real alien to talk to.
