Lost cat help, please.

One of my cats has been missing since Friday and I was wondering what else I could do to find her. So far, a letterbox drop has been done; the animal shelters notified as well as the local vets; the house checked inside and out; under the house checked; name called at various times of the day and night. I last saw her  late Friday afternoon. A neighbour saw her late that night and he said that when she saw him, she bolted across the road. Any suggestions as to what else I could do? I've run out of ideas, other than to wait.

Re: Lost cat help, please.

i don't know where you live so if this is possible.

when my dog went missing i made up a dozen or so signs with his picture on it.

went around to all the garage sales and asked if i could leave them in the driveway so people could see it as they were walking in and out.

that way people driving in the area and likely to be driving to other near by garage sales  might spot him .

i got him back the same day

Re: Lost cat help, please.

Thanks, everyone, for the well wishes and good advice. No news as of yet. I'll be going to the RSPCA today to look for her. She has to be somewhere. Its the not knowing if she is safe that is getting to me as well as missing her. If she doesn't come back to me, I'm hoping that a kind person has managed to coerce her into coming out of her hiding place and is taking good care of her.

I just had another thought. I should be looking for bengals that are for sale just i case someone has caught her and wants to get some money for her. She is an expensive cat.

Re: Lost cat help, please.

May I suggest you distribute leaflets at/near schools, also?  Children notice things, especially new animals in their surroundings.

Hate to mention this, but we live on a very busy road, and my first call is always to our council garbage collectors, who always make a written note of any casualties they may pick up on their routes.  I've been lucky so far, but neighbours have at least had some closure from hearing the worst.

Hope she turns up soon, I know what you're going through.

I once heard a very good suggestion, to put up a set of wind chimes - needn't be close to the house or neighbours - to act as a homing signal for pets, especially if moving house.

Re: Lost cat help, please.

Bluecat, don't only look in the Begal Cat For Sale sections. A lot of peope have no idea what he different cat markings mean, but having the markings of a leopard is unusual to see on a cat. Whoever has the cat and wants to sll her will propably just mention the unusual markings.

I had pet cats most of my life, but never knew about a Bengal until I saw the pictures of your cats.

Look in all Cat for Sale adds.

Re: Lost cat help, please.

Sorry that you havent found your fur baby yet.

I have British Short hair cats, and one of them went missing last yr, turns out she was locked in someones gararge and they had gone away for a few days, yours could be locked in somewhere.

My cousin has a cat that likes to get in cars, she has a Siamese, Mowie (the cat) managed to escape the house a while back, and was found in a friends car, when she got home.

Cats being cats, like to investigate everything, yours could be under someones house, locked in somewhere or gone for a wander, inwhich case they would leave their scent and come back.

Fur babies are part of the family, I really hope yours comes back........

Re: Lost cat help, please.

Also you can go to the facbebook page of your local council and register your missing cat on there............that might help, as heaps of people are on f/book.

Re: Lost cat help, please.

She's home!!!!!!!!!!

A man rang to say that he was positive my cat  was sitting on his doorstep at that very moment. He sai dthat she had been hanging around for a couple of days but didn't think anything of it until he saw my flier. I rushed around there with a cat carrier and a tin of sardines. By then, she had moved on to another house but as soon as I called her, she responded at the top of her lungs. Bengals have a wide range of distinctive sounds and I recieved the whole repotoire within a minute. She wouldn't come near me, though, but hunger and sardines won out and eventually she was in the carrier. And home.

She is very thin and very tired and very happy to be home.

Thanks for all of the support that has been given to me. Heart
