Luggage advice please.

Looking at buying some luggage for a cruise in a few weeks.   Want something mid size approx 75-78cm, well made and durable.

Have looked at well know brands, eg samsonite, antler but some reviews suggest they aren't made like they use to be.

Anyone bought some lately?

Re: Luggage advice please.

I want something that lasts.  I purchased a nice red bag in the 70's and it travelled a couple of times round the world as well a couple of cruises and interstate trips.  It served me well with having to get someone to sit on it so it would close many times.   Looking at a hard case without zippers preferably.

Re: Luggage advice please.

lanza is one of the luggage that Choice tested.  Dont know what the results were as you need to subscribe.  Maybe worth looking into it.

aldi luggage has good reviews.

Re: Luggage advice please.

go to auctions and buy an old one from the days when things didn't fall apart when you use them first.

you also will pay a fraction

Re: Luggage advice please.

i think i had one from aldi, i am pretty sure about that (although not 100%), the dragging handle fell off after a few hours which made it rather inconvenient to use.

Re: Luggage advice please.

I used to love my old suitcase with the clips. However since moving to a new one with zips I woukdnt ever go back to one with clips.

The latest ones (zip) have 4 wheels now and much eadier to push around.

I buy samsonite when on special 40% off.
They have a long guarantee.. 5 yrs I think.

We also have one from Target that has traveled the world and still in use.

If you intend to fly to places the some new style ones are extra light also.
