Magnetic fly screens

Anyone have magnetic fly screens on their windows?

What do you think of them?

Re: Magnetic fly screens

yes, you do but it wasn't about the item but about what might be more suited to the situation and no doubt the OP will find one for herself?

Re: Magnetic fly screens

Agree Azure, but I'm the type of person that will try this sort of thing and then find out I've wasted my money.  I recently got fly screens fitted, 2 windows and 1 sliding door, cost me $400 and are great, not sure what these magnetic things cost but sometimes it's worth getting quotes from other people.

Re: Magnetic fly screens

My dad has ordered me some fly screens that attach to the inside of my windows (I have those stupid wind out windows) that attach to the wood with velcro.  Not sure where he ordered them from, I can find out if you are interested.

yes please 🙂

were your windows ones that open out?

Because we have had quotes to fly screen those and it does cost more. The flyscreen has to go on the inside but you also have to be able to get access beyond the flyscreen to be able to open the window.

Re: Magnetic fly screens

I was considering putting one on my babies bedroom door (internal)?

I have an inside cat and although she stays right away from the noisy little person, I have never trusted puss at night time and have always close nursery door. Sometimes the nights are so hot and no a/c can get in there, so Im curious if this would work for air to go thru but not the cat?

I do have the door open for day sleeps and when room is empty and only 1 time in over a year found cat in there, on the window sill behind curtain & blinds.

Can someone who actually has one in their house give me their thoughts?

Thanks 🙂

Those ones won't work if you want to keep the cat out kylie.  My parents have one on the back door and the cat slips in and out of it all the time, sometimes she doesn't even have to push apart the magnets!

DD, I will ask dad tonight, he is out doing his good deed for the day :^O

Re: Magnetic fly screens

Our dog walks through ours.

The velcro one might work? I pointed the cat issue out to our neighbours....... they had a screen door installed on the nursery.

Several young friends replaced the bedroom door with one...works a treat. Puss never once went near the babies / toddlers when they were asleep.
