Magpies aren't a problem here, it's aggressive seagulls.

That's a great idea.

We have swooping Magpies here every year. The children thought it was hilarious trying to outsmart the Maggies. They painted big eyes on the back of their bycicle helmets, and the ones that had to walk used empty, two litre icecream containers as helmets with eyes painted on them as well.
Must have worked good enough to scare the Magpies away from their heads.

I've heard that's a very good way of stopping them swooping.

It's a girl magpie, Richo.
She may have fancied it as a pretty thing for her nest.
