That's so true!  But it is a bit like deciding whether to follow your heart or follow your head.  You want to follow your heart and you're hoping that kismet agrees.

Re: Making a decision

We oldies.........just sometimes we have to stop and think.

From what I have read, Jessica lives Back'O Bourke.  It appears to me that she is unemployed.  Not a lot of opportunities out there.

Jessica has already made a decision not to get into the drug/alcohol scene.  Or doesn't rob to feed that need.  Maybe she is doing some sort of course on line to further her education.  Maybe it was suggested that she converse with adults to get opinions as well as some her own age.

Some of her ideas are new and exciting to her.  "Old hat" to some of us.  Let's us show our maturity in dealing with things/words that may not be to our own individual liking; by either ignoring and saying nothing, or putting our carefully considered opinions to her subject.

Can we not imagine that she is our daughter or grand-daughter?  Can you imagine someone talking to our grand-daughter in a manner that is putting her down?

I flipped a coin

metaphorically

and as it spun

I looked into the eye of the oracle.

The answer was

in the finest oracular tradition

in the form of a question;

How do I find the courage to tell you that I am shy?

Re: Making a decision

Maybe Jessica prefers the chat on this board compared to talking to her peers on Facebook .........   which can be a vicious jungle with the young. .

I like this approach.

Just do the exact oppisite of what you would normally do, what your gut tells you and you can't go wrong. I every instinct you have is wrong, then the oppisite would have to be right.
