It's totally bizarre that they focused on the coffee machine. There was plenty of other fodder on the night, including a seemingly drunken obnoxious senator.   :^O

There has been a couple of situations I have personally witnessed over the years and the media reports of the events have left me wondering if they were reporting the same events.

The media is full of carp and leaves me disbelieving most of whats reported

I am sure the media make it up as they go. They take a bit of news that seems rather dull to them and add to it, to make it more appealing.
