I would have liked the magistrate to make an example of that "person" by jailing him for an awful lot longer and then banning him from ever having any kind of pet for the rest of his life.
It's a shame that the sentence was so very light, because such people need to be locked up for a long time in my opinion, they are not just a danger to animals, but to people. I wouldn't want him living next door to us.

I think we have to remember that we have some home invaders who go into people's home and bash & terrorise & they get off lightly, so what can you expect these days. Our law is too soft on violent crimes.

He was also banned from having the care of an animal!
What twddle? It was not even his pet. If he had issues about the dog, he should have spoken to the owners to resolve a problem.
I would like to talk with the Magistrate about that lenient prison sentence.
One thing is for sure, that man will not have a good time in the neighbourhood.
