An Australian registered company , whose business is unrelated to medical supplies, has been buying surgical masks etc in bulk from retails outlets and exporting out of Australia, in violation of business to business protocals not to mention being arguably unethical and possibly unlawful - now if hospital staff are short of supplies... what needs to be done....

Ironical if that supply is the same that was legally looted from Australian retail shops
However thinking about the situation at the time China was probably very desparate for medical items and Australia had not been really affected , so an over-supply - so hence the directive to source items in that manner ( also historically the British ( hence us by asssociation) most likely did the same, stripping shops of tea and china plates etc in the 1800's )
Personally while disappointed in such actions - i can understand why , however if they had have bought at wholsesale there would not be any issue and they would have got a better price

Yeah, but at least the British gave something back, getting them hooked on opium.
Facts stranger than fiction

Well if they are in such dire straights enough to raid other countries supplies then maybe we can assist them , as we are starting to adapt and ramp up outputs - starting with frozen quality sea food , and we have plenty of tender wholesome pork

I know they paid for the goods - but retail shops are for supplying consumer quantities of goods for private citizens , not bulk company to company purchases . There are wholesale companies for those types of purchases.
The money is not the issue but the inappropriate sourcing of the goods in bulk quantituies which left or could have left rightful citizens without.
That is the issue and why i describe that as legal looting ( like the senseless toilet paper hysteria )

And went to war with them when they tried to stop us selling it to them.

Wonder if that episode was used as justification to raid our shops ?
