Some of the hoax bomb phone calls that have caused chaos in Australian schools in the last week, have reportedly been traced to an elite high school.
Victorian police are investigating whether ‘anonymous cowards’ responsible for the terrifying calls hailed from closer to home.
The phone calls have led to the evacuation of at least 20 schools in Victoria. Schools in New South Wales and Queensland have also been targeted in the last few days.
Education sources told the Herald Sun that police had established that some of the calls made last Friday had been linked to Nossal High School, at Monash University’s Berwick campus.
Police are reportedly checking whether the school’s telecommunications were compromised.
One theory is the possibility that the hoaxer used an identification spoofing service to make it seem like the calls were made from the campus.
E-Crime detectives are currently working with Australian Federal Police to investigate the international element of the threatening calls, as similar chaos had been reported abroad.
Victoria Police was unable to rule out some of the calls being made from Nossal.
They said they were treating the calls as a hoax, not linked to terrorism.
So it could all be a plot within a plot within a plot. With technology so sophisticated these days could any sort of group posing as another.

I think the Police are not saying to much about the way this investigation is performed.
Todays students are very computer wise and know a lot about modern technology, but in the end the perpetrators will be caught, and suitably punished I would hope.

Yet !
With recent events in mind, the "hoaxers" may be being schooled by another entity into thinking it's just a fun hoax to play. And then encourage them to have more "fun" with actual "bombs".
Scary, indeed.

18 year old Vincent Lauton is known to be a skilled hacker and has been described by French police as a "sophisticated computer operative".
He is linked to the "Evacuators 2K16" bomb hoaxers who called on children to tweet if they wanted their school shut down and made hoax bomb threats to schools across the globe.
Heavily armed police raided the home where Lauton lives with his parents in the village of Marsannay le Bois - near Dijon.
He was taken to a Paris police station last night under emergency powers and his computer equipment was being examined by experts.
