Thanks for starting the thread j*oono - it has been fun.

Well it was a good start. There were some really good cooks on the show tonight.
My sons reckon I should be on the show but I don't think they would accept lamb rolls with squashed roast potatoes.
The promos were a little bit deceptive. I thought I would not like the person but she was lovely and I'd love to make a laksa like that.

I had not seen any promos j*oono but my niece had been texting me reminding me to watch it lol
I enjoyed it - makes a far better format to MKR which appeared to be more of a personality contest where the cooking ran a very poor last.
I have to say though that the questionable 'table manners' of some (both competitors and judges) on both shows really puts me off
I will persevere with watching it though

With the challenge tonight I would probably have done a kedgeree.
An old English breakfast dish that probably came from India originally. It's a curried rice and smoked fish concoction with boiled eggs.
I have a really good and easy recipe if anyone wants it. It's more of a weekend lunch thing for me though.

Gosh j*oono - had forgotten all about kedgerees.
Given her Indian (I think) heritage, I am surprised that English girl did not consider something like that also. Perhaps it is a generational thing though and she might never had had it ........ seems unlikely though.
Would love you to put your recipe up here please
Great show tonight!

As luck would have it I've got a link to this one I've been making. It's another freebie Coles recipe and dead easy.
It would be a generation thing. I remember my mum making it in England and I would have been very young then. I'm pretty sure she made it with shrimp and I've tried it with smoked cod.

Thanks j*oono
Poor Deepali - imagine having to cook that dish if you have never eaten beef. She gave it a jolly good 'go' at least.

She did quite well. You can already see who is a stayer and who is a goer can't you.
I'm glad Nick made it. I thought he would be out tonight because he only seems to make sweet things and desserts. It will be good to see that he can do other stuff too.

She did do well despite her constraints.
I was glad Nick made it too - was concerned given his preference for desserts, but he is on a huge learning curve and is obviously willing to extend himself.
