can anyone advise me on hanging plants. No, not hanging my plants - they have done nothing wrong - I meaning plants that hang.
I have a retaining wall. I would like to plant some plants at the top of the wall and 'train them' to fall down to cover the retaining wall.
Are there such plants or would I have to plant some at the bottom of the wall and let them grow up the wall?

Japanese wisteria will only grow in the colder parts of Qld.
There is a native wisteria that will grow here but it is hard to find in nurseries.
I tried to grow several Japanese ones without success as it always died when summer hit.you mean hardenbergia? the purple one grows biggish the white and pink ones grow small and wouldn't cover much. bunnings sells it.
which Bunnings?
@lol @ wisteria ....... maybe some people have sheltered areas where they grow it....... or maybe they are in areas that get colder.................. rabbit is higher up than me, so humidity is higher, so probably not a good choice. I do like Polks last suggestion though, that may be what I need for my area.
I have star jasmine on a trellis and I am forever cutting it back from my security screens.

Grown and admired in China and Japan for over a thousand years, wisteria is one of the great garden plants.
These vigorous, long lived climbers like a sunny position with good drainage and reliable moisture during flowering and the initial growth period. In Australia they grow well in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobart, Sydney and the mountains.
As Azure said, the one in my pic does not grow in Queensland, but a native one does.
Common name: Native Wisteria
Botanic name: Millettia megasperma
Description: Vigorous, scrambling evergreen climber. It has compound leaves with 7 to 13 dark green glossy leaflets. Large white to purple pea-shaped flowers are borne in dense racemes from late winter to spring.
Best climate: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the tropics, and worth a try in inland areas, Perth and Adelaide.
Allamanda, very hardy, yellow is common but there are other colours

Now I know where rabbit is, some of us had no idea, and it matters. There are heaps of climbers to grow in Queensland.
Hardenbergia is a diferent plant altogether.

Absent SOH?
We all have the right to our opinion, even about botany.
