From the pharmaceutical lecture I received yesterday when picking up my scripts, I got the impression that the doctor can write the script so that generics can't be substituted. Maybe that would be an option for him. It's only a minor inconvenience having to say no to generics but an inconvenience none the less.

Deb there is a little box that gets ticked if no substitution is required.
EM the situation I had they didn't bother to ask and just dispensed a substitute brand, then came the argument when they told me it was there choice and not mine if they substituted or not, they ended up changing the item to that on the script and it was .70c dearer. lol

I wonder how legitimate that is?

I dont know or care, all I know is I am the customer and they want my money, I get what I want or I walk and give it to someone else that does want it.
There are no shortage of chemist shops, just like banks there are plenty to choose from and if one wont give me what I want I go to the next and try them until I am happy.
