Re: Mental Illness Awareness and Support Thread

Good to see you posting here again lane-ends. I've wondered how things have been going for your partner.
The breast cancer is a huge blow and another battle, I wish you both well xxx

There is nothing therapeutic for me in gardening lol. Hot, dirty, itchy and scratchy work. Summer is totally unpleasant up here, nice now but the bugs and insects always ruin any notion of gardening for me. I guess its just not my thang.

Lane-ends, it is good to see you back here with us. Sorry to hear about your wife's breast cancer, though, and I hope that you are both coping as well as possible.

A bit like the idea of a handy supply of get well cards for the mantlepiece, to excuse the housework 😄
Now that's one I'm going to use.

LOL There are times when I have the vacuum cleaner out so that if anyone drops by I can say that I was just about to do the vaccuuming. Silly really but it works for me.Cat Happy

Hmmm , maybe that's not quite right for this thread.

Re: Mental Illness Awareness and Support Thread

It is linked to mental health. I find that the messier my house gets, or when I perceive that it is so, the more anxious I feel and depression gets a toe in as well. I love it when it's tidy but I don't seem to be able to maintain it. Sabotage perhaps?

Thanks, she is actually in a detox unit this week being weaned of Xanax. all her chemo and radiotherapy is done now. Its just hormone tablets now and crossed fingers for the future.

Its a hard slog but we are heading in the right direction. She has a good GP and a mental health worker who are both spending an hour or so with her each, every week. Cant believe all the proper attention she gets now. The BPD is as strong as ever, but I have come along way with working with it, so we don't have many conflicts now.

We just got a new car and are looking out for a new caravan so we can get away at weekends, even though its heading towards winter

Re: Mental Illness Awareness and Support Thread

Good morning everyone. I might venture outside today. The only thing that I miss about going to the hospital is my daily walk through the park. My sleep patterns are stuffed yet again but I guess that gives me something to focus on fixing. Again.
