Menu (with ref to Gillard & Rudd) - Restaurant Owner admits it was his idea

Just heard this on TV. Owner said he thought it was a light hearted idea. I didn't catch it all but I think he said it wasn't handed out at the dinner.

crikey - It was that restaurant named in the link on a previous thread in this topic.

Tell Stephanie Alexander or Gordon Ramsay or any of the hundred other chefs who receive royalties from their menus and recipe books LOLOLOL.

You comparing a recipe book printed for sale from well known celebrity Chefs/cooks with a menu from a restaurant in Brisbane... give me a break .argh

Restaurants have menus in their windows, menus on their tables, menus on their websites...for all the world to see.... you are the one claiming they could be trade secrets. LOL LOL LOL.

I already acknowledged that I used the word recipe incorrectly. However the rest stands. I am not going to argue with you, the fact is that the distribution of this menu has more than likely breached several laws as I listed above (we won't know exactly what until we gewt some verified facts) , and depending on the amount of harm caused to relevant parties, will determine the legal outcomes.

You asked who may sue - I answered anyone who has been harmed.

You claim that no laws have been breached - with the story as it has, indeed they have been, to what degree cannot be ascertained until we have some indisputable facts.

Our Tort Law Intranet is swamped with information about this being channeled, commented on and overseen by our lecturers.

Trade Secrets - Coca-cola formula,  Google's proprietary search algorithm versus a menu (fudged most likely and a one of set menu for a private function) from a restaurant in Brisbane.... sure.

Which means nothing.

You also stated the menu could be a trade secret... it isn't.

Besides most people (members of the public) are interested in who wrote the menu, who saw it, etc, not the legal ramifications.

The recipe for Coke does have a copy right and a trademark.

Change recipe to formula and that statement is still incorrect.

The emphasis needs to be on the "several". We cannot be sure what laws have been broken until we have some FACTS.

It will mean something to whomever has been harmed and to what degree they have been harmed.

I fail to see the relevance in what "most people (the general public) are interested in" it does not change the FACTS.

Now, until we get some FACTS, this entire conversation is subjective and hypothetical. It is late, my OH has just gone to bed, and I would like to join him before he goes to sleep if you get my drift.

I was just watching ABC and I heard what was written, DISGUSTING!

Yea everything is disgusting in this humourless world we now live in.

All  you need to do is GOOGLE   "GILLARD KFC JOKE"   as that line that was used for quail has been a  joke out there on the net for years and years about Gillard.

But keep on going tsk tsk tsk...

and why has it taken Gillard and her team well over a month to use this FAKE menu as they have known about it for some time.

any way lets all say fake and more fake from our fraud of a PM..

Re: Menu (with ref to Gillard & Rudd) - Restaurant Owner admits it was his idea

I'm not convinced. The reason for this is what Mal Brough said earlier yesterday (according to the media) .By earlier I mean before the email was sent .

Mr Brough says the menu was drawn up by a non-party member who thought it would be “humorous” and “didn’t mean any harm by it,” but is now “deeply apologetic”.’

so according to that Mal Brough knows who did it ,accepted responsibility for it and apologised .

yet the email sent by the restaurant owner (who is an NLP donor ) seems to explain it and own it as if Mal Brough didn't know previously ?

is he saying the author is deeply apologetic ?

How would he know ?had he been in touch with him at that stage (pre email)  ?
