Menu (with ref to Gillard & Rudd) - Restaurant Owner admits it was his idea

Just heard this on TV. Owner said he thought it was a light hearted idea. I didn't catch it all but I think he said it wasn't handed out at the dinner.

crikey - It was that restaurant named in the link on a previous thread in this topic.

Do I think that a candidate that is trying to win a seat would make up a menu like that???

It has been applauded by the spammers on this forum. It is possible that some right wing voters think it is funny, you only have to look at the images they post.

Oh c'mon hey, apart from the box comment, the rest of it was quite funny.

Ms Gillard shot herself in the foot yesterday. Regardless of the authenticity of the menu, she could have used it as a powerful tool to display true leadership ability and to reinforce her gender stance. If only she had have taken the time to source the FACTS, get some PROOF, and some decent advice about how best to handle the situation. Instead she went off half cocked, ill informed and under prepared - something which she is now known to be notorious for.

It puts doubt in people's minds that she has thought anything through, investigated anything thoroughly or extensively.

I just can't see how he can be blamed for how people reacted when it appears that it was never his intention for it to be published.

IF..he had it in a workplace he owns where his employees can see it while they are working for him...It has been called sexually offensive .he can be blamed for that can't he ?

IMO - our PM humiliated herself and did not handle the situation with the skill or decorum that I would expect of our leader.

convenient ? expected  ?

If he is owning it...there are more apologies he should make.

If the menu is proven to be a fake and the events are as they appear at the moment, I wonder if our PM and her supporters (both political and the general public) will apologize for their mud slinging.

reacting before any PROOF or FACTS were established one way or the other

That could be said about every liberal politician that commented yesterday. Has proof been established yet? lol

What comments did they make?

That they didn't know about the menu?

That they didn't read the menu?

That they never recalled seeing the menu?

Exactly what comments did they make?

The restaurant owner?

It appears that he made a joke. A very distasteful joke, but a joke nonetheless. And i think you will find that even a politician is allowed to have a sense of humour. I wasn't aware that holding such a position disqualified them from enjoying jokes or comedy.

From what I understand of this situation, it wasn't the politicians who made this particualr joke, at least not in public.
