Michael Douglas is reportedly preparing to announce he has ended his 13-year marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Splitsville for Michael Douglas And Catherine Zeta-Jones
"Michael is going to announce the split soon," an insider allegedly told the publication. "Catherine is fighting to save the marriage but he's had it."
Michael and Catherine, 43, have not been pictured together in public for four months.
His spokesperson refused to confirm or deny the claims, saying simply: "I won't talk about that."
Rumours the couple's marriage is on the rocks have been swirling for months.
What a shame I thought they were rock-solid

Sad isn't it, if "The firm" don't agree with your choice of mate it can't happen. You only have to look at the past, Prince Albert and Mrs Simpson, princes Margaret and I forget who? Prince Charles and Carmilla would have married years earlier if the "firm" would have kept out of it!Prince Albert is married to Charlene Wittstock.
Why the mention of Monaco's Prince Albert who is not part of our monarchy?

Queen Victoria's husband was also Prince Albert..
However the 'Albert' Mugssy was thinking of was Prince Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David, who briefly became King Edward VIII following the death of his father George V, but abdicated shortly before his coronation in order to marry Wallis Simpson - an American divorcee. He wa sthen given the title Duke of Windsor and effectively banished from the UK.

Prince Albert.
Duke of Windsor . A choice he made.. marriage to a divorcee or the throne.
It iwas Princess Margaret that got worst outcome re partners/marriage imo.

In fact England was probably well rid of him. He was a selfish, immature playboy and would have made a lousy King. And Queen Wallis? I don't think so!.
Margaret was. treated abominably and I suspect having to give up Peter Townsend probably destroyed her life.

I knew Muggsy meant Prince Edward, I was being pedantic.
Prince Albert's marriage to Charlene is also a sham. And all the European royals are related anyway, so Prince Albert is probably related to the German Windsors.

Are they really, all related? ok 🙂

.......Kings continued to marry into the families of their greatest vassals down to the 16th century in most of Europe, by which time most of the great regional principalities and duchies were annexed to the Crown in Scandinavia, Latin Europe and the British Isles through royal subjugation or inheritance. Henceforth, kings tended to marry internationally and, increasingly, to have their sons and daughters do likewise.
Over time, due to the relatively limited number of potential consorts, the gene pool of many ruling families grew progressively smaller, until all European royalty were related. This also resulted in many being descended from a certain person through many lines of descent, such as the numerous European royalty and nobility descended from the British Queen Victoria or King Christian IX of Denmark. The House of Habsburg was infamous for its inbreeding, with the Habsburg lip cited as an ill-effect, although no genetic evidence has proved the allegation. The closely related houses of Habsburg, Bourbon and Wittelsbach also engaged in first-cousin unions frequently and in double-cousin and uncle-niece marriages occasionally.
The new royal baby Prince George is distantly related to Blue Ivy (Beyonce's child, 23rd cousin twice removed). Shared French heritage.

Certain races marry cousins too. The link between this and children born with problems was dismissed in the last few years.
