meh, it's not like he would have gone to all of those events voluntarily.
I mean, some of them were in Melbourne!

DY: "Why do politicians only pay it back when they get caught?"
They should take lessons from the expert, Thompson.

Gosh the Myopics are smarting, I could almost feel sorry for them, especially now that their bleating is lost in background noise:-
"Abbott had a lot of tasks for a new Prime Minister on this visit. Almost everything you read and heard about it in advance, especially from the former government but also from much of the media, (and CS Myopics) was complete baloney based on a comprehensive misunderstanding of Abbott and his purposes, and a pretty feeble grasp of the dynamics at work on the Indonesian side as well."

i dont think thomson has rorted any MP allowances, only union allowances, and that is what the court case centres on 'where there any restrictions on HSU cards ? it seems not.
This John is about MPs (pm included) rorting travel etc allowances. the union matter is surely no worse than the activities of one Leighton Holdings ? when you consider its Investor money.

@alexander*beetle wrote:This list of claims by tony is pretty indicative of what he thinks of our taxpayer money. Pretty disgusting. I won't list them all because the article is too large but it's very damning and speaks for itself.
What irks me are the expenses for Tony and family. So we were paying for his daughters to attend the likes of the AFL Grand Final, The Victorian Derby etc.
That we have a man leading this country who can't see the moral wrong he has done is indeed, very sad.
In 2009 Tony Abbott falsely claimed flight and comcar costs while promoting his book and had to repay $9397.42. Here are 25 other examples of Abbott's work-related claims:

And do not forget that while he was doing all that 'charity' work he was also getting his salary. I am sure he did not say " I am going on charity ride, so I am taking week off without pay", which is something any other person would have to do (unless they took week of their holidays).

aren't they on a salary though?

I don't think there is anything more myopic than thinking that this is OK..
