OH has been using my old iPhone4 but it has finally given up the ghost and died. I love my iPhone but he's not keen on getting another smart phone. All he needs is to make and receive calls and texts and take some pictures. He uses a prepaid Telstra plan.
Any recommendations?
Oh, and it needs to be reasonably powerful (if that's the right word) because the reception around here can be a bit scratchy at times.

Yes , you typed that out loud!
That's the actual size of it. I use it with my thumbnails, so I don't know about
a man using it.

Stawks I'm another one very interested as I don't want internet either and something simple.
Do you know if I can transfer my Virgin sim card into it or do I have to get an Optus one? And if I have to get an Optus one would that be a start up kit? As you can see I know zilch about mobile phones and wish I had an excuse tro get a smart phone but I haven't. Also do you prepay as you go?

The telstra easycall 3 is a bit of a workhorse and has big numbers and keys. No camera though.
Loud ring and says the numbers as you type them in. Has an alarm, torch and fm radio. Its a phone I'd look at for my mum if she would consider one. It is very basic.. And good for regional coverage.

Bright, it's a micro sim card. I had to get a new sim card when I got it.
It was unlocked. I bought it at Woolies and I prepay with Optus
So, you have to get an unlocked one and also make sure your Virgin simcard
is a micro one, then you're ready to go

Looks like a smart phone stawka. The pic has FB logo or email??
How is it for texting?
I reckon that sounds ideal for Lurkers OH Apart from stubby fingers. Dont think you can go back in technology.

It's not that smart. You can go on the internet, but it doesn't have Wi-fi
So any data that you download will cost the earth.
I have ignored all settings that take me to the internet.
I haven't set it up for the internet.
Easy texting - has predictive text - I have that turned off, cos I hate it.
Ooooo......and it has smiley faces too hahahahahahaha

I'm not sure that he has ever sent a txt but I send him them occasionally (you know, stuff like "get bread and eggs" LOL), so he needs that. I doubt going back from a smart phone will be a problem. Just the stubby fingers
I'll be in the big smoke next week so I'll have a look then. It sounds like there is a bit of choice around in unlocked phones.
Thanks guys
