The boards are getting a bit heated over nothing so I thought I would throw in a political thread lol.
Today he said this:
"During a press conference at Parliament House on Tuesday, the Prime Minister was asked how it could transpire that professionally trained and highly skilled naval personnel could mistakenly sail, more than once, into Indonesian territorial waters.
"Even people who are at the very top of their game... will occasionally make mistakes," Mr Abbott replied, while praising the skill and professionalism of the Australian navy.
"Test cricketers occasionally drop catches, great footballers occasionally miss tackles and regretfully, there were a couple of occasions when this mistake was made."
Huh??? How is it that a man in his position would think of cricket and football first in relation to strategic positining of our defence forces.

Good analogy, Tone. It's well known that footballers and cricketers are using state of the art GPS equipment on the field these days.
On the plus side, he didn't repeat every phrase three times, apparently.

It seems like everything is a game to him.

He's talking to us as if we are children, our brains don't go higher than sport.

Probably been told by his spin drs that using footy and cricket will appeal to us common working folk.

Or maybe when he was sat on Howard's lap, getting his daily lessons he misheard "Howard's battler's" for "Howard's batter's".

"As I famously - perhaps infamously - said during the election campaign, it often seems like a struggle that involves baddies versus baddies,'' Mr Abbott, a keynote speaker at the forum, said after arriving in the Swiss alpine town.
"I guess the best way for all of them to demonstrate if some of them are goodies is to lay down their arms and try to ensure the conflict, which is devastating that country and its people, starts to subside.''
How embarrassing

Some more tone speak,
apologies if these have appeared before, just can't help myself
On immigration:
1. ‘Jesus knew that there was a place for everything and it’s not necessarily everyone’s place to come to Australia.’
2. ‘These people aren’t so much seeking asylum, they’re seeking permanent residency. If they were happy with temporary protection visas, then they might be able to argue better that they were asylum seekers’
