Murdoch distributes his propaganda for FREE

Today the hideously biased one-track subject matter Daily Telegraph was boasting it had the highest readership of any newspaper in the country with levels rising. 

Now I know why.

For months it has been the only reading available at my morning cafe and the content has stunned me - it is simply filled to the brim with BS. It's nothing more than an avenue for Murdochs propaganda and his anti-Labor agenda.

So I asked the cafe owner why she only has NewsLimited papers. She tells me she would never buy them -  they just 'arrive' on her doorstep every morning. 3 x The Australian and 3 x The Daily Telegraph. And they deliver to EVERY cafe in the area.

I work in Surry Hills in Sydney and for those of you who don't know Surry Hills, it is a cafe laden suburb with more cafes per square metre than any other city in Australia. The 3 blocks I walk from Central station to work I pass 16 cafes. Each given free Murdoch propaganda in the guise of a newspaper.

What chance for democracy when the country is being brainwashed to this degree?

I bet they deliver to a lot of cafes in other areas as well.

Well gee miss martini thats smart marketing...... Now you know why they (Murdoch press) are doing so well and your preferred hate papers from the left of the left Fairfax media group is all but broke and only the dedicated minority of left leaning are still reading them. 

But I guess if they had a smidgin of marketing at Fairfax and did the same thing  to these cafes you would think thats a great idea and be all for it wouldn’t you.... 🙂

So do you post from work do you? it would appear so from your posts....  Is that OK with your employer to do that?

Fairfax’s metropolitan papers continue to bleed sales, despite the shift to commuter-friendly compact formats. News’ biggest-selling papers recorded unprecedented double-digit circulation drops year-on-year. And monopoly status is offering no protection for regional papers, which are rivalling their big-city brethren for circulation declines.

How strange it is to remember Australian papers were holding relatively steady only three years ago, bucking the downward trend in the US. Now we’ve reached the point of contagion: total newspaper circulation slumped by 11.2% year-on-year in the June quarter, with no papers picking up paid sales.

Ditto Nero, I am sure if the boot was on the other foot (so to speak) Labor would be lapping it up, jealousy is a dreadful emotion and a waste of one's energy, they will just have to put up with the fact we have free speech in this country and a high profile business man has the avenue to publish his point of view.

The reason why the News Corp papers are so successful is that PEOPLE WANT TO READ THEM.

The reason Fairfax failed is that NOBODY WANTED TO READ IT.

The reason The Age is no longer relevant is NOBODY WANTS TO READ IT.

This is called freedom of the press in a democracy, got it

Now I know this is unpalatable to the left on here but we live in a democratic country with freedom of the press so get over it. The shoe was on the other foot like  in 2007,  I never heard a peep about it then, not a word, not  an avalanche of outrage.

What's good for one is also good for the other.

Thank goodness we do have a free press to shine a light on the total incompetence of this Govt.

The reason Roxon & the hapless Conroy failed so badly & Roxon left politics is that NOBODY wanted their restrictive policies & were withdrawn to save face, withdrawn before they could fail to pass on the floor.

Boy, we don't all suffer from amnesia even though Labor wishes we do..

"is being" ? judging by  the CS Board, many are completely brain washed scrubbed and dried already,  with nothing left to do but rail (rant) at anything that is contrary to their views.

The good thing about our society is that we have choice.  So if we don't like a free newspaper

at the coffee shop we can always fork out a dollar or so for one that we do like.
