Muslim Community Establishes $ Million TV Studio

Members of Sydney's Muslim community have set up a $1 million television studio to counter the mainstream media's treatment of Islam in Australia.

From its base in western Sydney, the One Path Network films and edits videos for its YouTube channel, including interviews with local sheikhs about Islamic teachings and current affairs.

Mr Majanni said the studio was funded by community donations and staffed by a team of more than 20 volunteers.

A range of prominent Muslims including the grand mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed, and Associate Professor Mohamad Abdalla from Griffith University have endorsed the project, appearing in a promotional video.

Supporters include a range of Muslim clerics from moderate to conservative.

Known as a dawah initiative, the studio aims to spread the word of Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

Funded by Community Donations? A large part of that community is on some sort of Government benefit!

Re: Muslim Community Establishes $ Million TV Studio

Would the Seventh Day Adventists or Jehovah Witnesses or the Anglican Church get the same attention if they decided to have their own self-funded TV studio manned by volunteers?

i dont have as much free time as you  seem to;

i'm sure you can do your own research.

i'll be back later to see if you found anything to

disprove the claim in the OP.

Typical bolt style; I'll make an accusation which is outrageous then challenge somebody else has to prove it wrong, because I can't back it up.

Dear Jed,

Thank you for your note. Unfortunately we cannot comply with your request at this time.

Our viewers love our foreign language shows. For those with no language skills other than their own, we screen them with subtitles to make them easy to follow.

Of course we realise that some in your demographic may find it difficult to keep up.

Perhaps the children's shows may be a good start.

Best regards,

The SBS progamming team.

I think icey may be an expert on childrens show, being a promoter and devotee of the childish Bolt show. I think it is screened twice on Sunday because all the comedy in is a bit to quick and difficult for is watchers to absorb in one go..

Re: Muslim Community Establishes $ Million TV Studio

This thread (and the laughably outlandish claims made on here) has got to be the most ridiculous thread on CS at the moment.

Some of the more outrageous posts I couldn't even be bothered to address. But I must say that I am surprised at the level the OP has stooped at with that last line in the opening. I didn't expect that from you icy.Smiley Sad

Maybe her account has been hacked and she didn't write it. I was surprised at that comment as well. It didn't really have anything to do with the content of the article quoted either.

The TV station is off to a bad start. Those who know the Qur'an are conversant with its opening:

This is the Book (the Qur'an), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)].

The Qur'an is not open to interpretation by local sheiks, mullahs, muftis of the grand or ordinary type. That is why ISIS is convinced that its current campaign is correct. There is not one surah in the Qur'an that says...If you are in any doubt pop down to the local mosque and ask the mufti what to do.

They should be banned from broadcasting.
