Members of Sydney's Muslim community have set up a $1 million television studio to counter the mainstream media's treatment of Islam in Australia.
From its base in western Sydney, the One Path Network films and edits videos for its YouTube channel, including interviews with local sheikhs about Islamic teachings and current affairs.
Mr Majanni said the studio was funded by community donations and staffed by a team of more than 20 volunteers.
A range of prominent Muslims including the grand mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed, and Associate Professor Mohamad Abdalla from Griffith University have endorsed the project, appearing in a promotional video.
Supporters include a range of Muslim clerics from moderate to conservative.
Known as a dawah initiative, the studio aims to spread the word of Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Funded by Community Donations? A large part of that community is on some sort of Government benefit!

And then how do you figure the suburb by suburb unemployment rates.
For example, Lethridge Park has the highest unemployment for any suburb in NSW. Muslims? Yes there are some. There are 1.96% of them in fact. Christians? Lots - 68.99%.
Tregear is the second highest. Just over 70% Christian.
Bidwill is the 3rd highest. Roughly the same amount of Christians.
Hebersham is the 4th highest. Has less Christians though at 69.4%.
I could go on but the pattern seems to be the same.
As a comparison, I checked my strongly Muslim suburb. As expected Christians only make up 50% of the demographics. But the average family income is about 70% higher than the aforementioned suburbs. If the mjaority of unemployed were muslims, there would have have been some synergy between all the stats.
But nope. There ain't!

@bushies.girl wrote:There are no Aussie muslims? Maybe the people you saw WOULD be working if there was a job for them?
As I said, I didn't stop to survey the religion of all these Aussie.
But perhaps you are onto something aye? "Maybe" all of these Aussies were Muslims converts. That would have explained their lack of employment cause they couldn't really be Aussie could they? So they mst have been Muslims pretending to be Aussies lol.
(In case it isn't clear, the tone in that paragraph was amused)

Interesting that Muslims are given preference for jobs lol
Where did I say that?
In fact we know the opposite is true - the discrimination rates are much higher for Muslims than for your average wage earner. Beaten only by our indigenous people sadly.

All I see in my area is hardworking families who happen to be Muslims. In fact, I can't even think of a single Muslms person I know who is out of work.
However I did have the misfortune of having to travel out to Mt Druitt today. There seemed to be an awful lot of bogans hanging around not doing much work. Admittedly I didn't stop to ask their religion. But an awful lot of them looked like Aussies to me. Um Mah...
They're living their lives just like everyone else. The young are playing footy, or working in retail, or going to uni, any number of things, just like any other person.
All this us vs them talk just causes conflict and aggression where there was none. Young people start to be marginalised and become the targets of hate speech for no reason. Combative attitudes breed hostile feelings.. At least the Muslim community are doing something to get the word out there that IS is not a legal, is not to be respected, and is not a legitimate Islamic organization.
