Members of Sydney's Muslim community have set up a $1 million television studio to counter the mainstream media's treatment of Islam in Australia.
From its base in western Sydney, the One Path Network films and edits videos for its YouTube channel, including interviews with local sheikhs about Islamic teachings and current affairs.
Mr Majanni said the studio was funded by community donations and staffed by a team of more than 20 volunteers.
A range of prominent Muslims including the grand mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed, and Associate Professor Mohamad Abdalla from Griffith University have endorsed the project, appearing in a promotional video.
Supporters include a range of Muslim clerics from moderate to conservative.
Known as a dawah initiative, the studio aims to spread the word of Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Funded by Community Donations? A large part of that community is on some sort of Government benefit!

back to your claim about this studio being tax payer funded - has abbott announced a govt. grant to them that I missed, or do you think they all saved up their measly welfare payments to fund the studio?

where did you get the idea they were my stats?
to accuse icy of making false claims you'd have
to have some knowledge on the subject, wouldn't you.

I think that quite possible, yes. People living in large family groups all receiving some kind of benefit would have no problem putting in cpl $100 or so on a regular basis.
Of course donations from businesses and companies would be the bulk of income. The Halal tax would probably come into play somewhere as well.
Also the volunteers would quite feasibly be able to donate their time if they were on some sort of g'mnt allowance.

i got the idea you must've seen some stats to base your claim on, I didn't realize you made it up at the time
my belief is that the TV studio is not funded by tax payers but funded by community members, as it says in the OP
Mr Majanni said the studio was funded by community donations and staffed by a team of more than 20 volunteers.
is that my accusation??
