Do you have anything against it?
Why?
What about other religions? Buddhists and Christians, are they ok?

Not much has changed. First it was the Italians, then the Greeks, then the Vietnamese, now the Moslems, later it will be another group. In turn they are abused, then accepted, then welcomed.

the problem with assimilation is that there really is no national identity. If someone tries they probably are more than likely basing it on a exaggerated stereotype of Australia. There are so many varied lifestyles in Australia and no two people live their lives like others. The hippie in Nimbin lives different to the "bogan" from the Western suburbs, they both live differently from city dwellers, the proffessionals and the CEO's etc. And within each they all choose their own style of living.

I think newcomers should integrate, not assimilate.

Islam is a bit more than just a faith. It's a whole set of religious, social, ethical and moral way of life.

nah, not really
'cept, we're over populated enough as is, the increase in population should be better controlled, imo
never mind the area size of this country, its believed australia can properly sustain only 10 million people, & we're well over double that

Why are we calling it "just a religion" then, as against any other?
Our religion is Christian yet it doesn't dominate what we eat, or our legal system, what we wear, etc, what we may or may not do.
