On Monday the 4th June 2007, while holidaying in the UK with my Father, my Mother was struck by a van while crossing the road.
Mum spent 88 days in various UK hospitals before finally being brought home back to Australia on the 30th August 2007.
She is currently in The John Whittle Nursing Facility with brain damage
I have set up this thread to keep you all updated on her condition and her improvements and hopefully one day, Mum will be able to read it.

Well, it was a good thing i didnt go to Dubbo in the end because in the time i would of been there, i ended up with whopping cough. That would of been a disastor to pass on to mum.
Things with mum are no change still. Dad seems a bit down but thats to be expected at this time of year. The rain and floods that Dubbo are going through at the moment wouldnt be helping his mood either.
In other news though, the law firm that has taken on Mums compensation case have a Doctor flying to Dubbo on Monday to assess Mum and also note how much care she needs daily.

...Ok, this was very good that you didn't go to Dubbo....
I was following the flooding reports......I read the newspapers on-line....it seems this year is a very strange year for flooding......I also have a friend who lives in Murwillumbah that has been talking about the flooding in places close to where she lives.....I guess its gonna' be a very wet Spring and Summer for y'all.....
How about you and your family......are y'all troubled with too much rain?
I hope your Dad is feelin' better today.....I sent a card to your Mum and your Dad....I put it in the post last Friday (03 December).....
Amy, please don't worry......you are gonna' be fine.....
I check your posts on the "pregnancy" thread.....I saw your photo of your "baby bump"......lol......its SO good for you ladies to share stories......
I hope all is well with your family during this wonderful time in y'all life.....its SO exciting to be bringing a new life into the world.....
Take Care my Dear Sweet Friend.....
Sylvia

The Doctor told dad he wasnt allowed to discuss his thoughts with dad.
The Doctor spent about an hour with Mum, looking through her notes and trying to get Mum to respond to anything.
The only thing Mum would do was follow him around the room with her eyes.

Was he the Insurance Doctor Amy?
All i know is he was sent by the solicitor to assess Mums condition.
Dad said he was nice. He told dad that all the info he put together would be sent to the solicitor and dad could request it from them. He asked dad a few questions about Mums progress/deterioration.
I don't know what Insurance company he would be working for as there is no insurance company helping out.
