I found out today that one of my cats has a degenerative eye condition that will eventually leave him blind.

Animals cope amazingly well with that sort of thing.

Friend has an elderly rescue chihuahua and she is blind now, doesn't seem to be fazed at all. I'm sure your cat will be fine.

I think he'll cope better than us! He's such a big dufus. lol. He's only two years old and will most likely be blind by the time he's 3.

I'll do that.
Back in ChinWag days, there was a blind kitten, Mouse, who had been fostered by a CWer before being adopted by another CWer.

Sorry to hear that Bluecat, as people have said animals copy quite well without sight. Our Sophie has been about 80% blind since she was +/-8 weeks old she is now 16 years old, I say about because vets are not really able to measure the lose of sight easily.
Sophie lost her sight through malnutrition her mother was a feral cat that was bought into the pond with 4 kittens we only found out she was blind when at 16 weeks she lost all her whiskers and started to walk into walls. When she grew her whiskers back she stopped walking into walls.
Is that a Bengal they are beautiful cats.
