Re: My day

How is the b/room reno going Freddie?  Is it starting to take shape?

I am tired of being given the run around by the builder who did our re stumping. Mr B spoke to the building inspector today and explained what is happening re our floor/s. The building inspector will be coming out to take a look and make an assessment, then contact the builder and tell him to get his act together.

Re: My day

It's coming along slowly, a few hitches with plumbing and needing this and that and this which means Mr F camping at Bunnings most of the day Smiley Very Happy

Bushy, it's so frustrating when people try to avoid doing the right thing. I'm giving Carpet Craft till Monday to make contact and to make arrangements to remove this faulty vinyl or I contact Fair Trading and let them sort them out. I hope the Building Inspector gives your builder the get and do the job properly card.

Re: My day

The builder didnt have a prob contacing us when he wanted his progress payments Freddie  .... It cost us 15k ( re stumping isn't cheap ) to get it done, so I want it sorted out and soon.

It's so wrong that CC are mucking you around like this, great service NOT   ....  Mr F needs to ask Bunning for a gold card lol  Do they have a rewards card at Bunnings? They do at our Mitre 10

Re: My day

I'm not sure Bushy we should have asked that before we started our reno. Wow that's a lot of $$ he needs to be told to get back and do the job properly sadly there are plenty of shonks out there ready to rip us off.

Re: My day

Hubby won't have a tradie on the property. We do everything now.

He has plenty of reasons why not.

Grudgingly, he let me get something done years ago, and it was a disaster, too.

Not to be negative about all tradies/builders, just all the ones that his family ever encountered, were horrendous.

Right up to making threats to his sister when she asked one to please help clean off masking tape residue from the new windows.

Me misbehave?  ***adjusts halo***Smiley Tongue

I like the look of that stove punchie.

I should formally thank Sandy very, very much for posting my piccie on Richo's Retirement.  I also envy the photo of the farm dam and its wonderful surrounds.

It has been fun reading your threads today and the bit of fun running around eating vanilla slices, the "mermaids" pool, blueys place, and dinner with Freddie with the compliments of the RE.

Somebody mentioned about Bushies, Debra's and others' roses.  Unfortunately, I live in an area that is not really suitable for roses - too humid and woeful soil - and I'm really adverse to being pricked by the thorns now as my skin has become paper-thin and I bleed profusely.  So I enjoy seeing their wonderful piccies and I am proud to share my little bit of knowledge of roses.

You are justified in following up on your dissatisfaction with the stumping Bushie,  that's a substantial amount of money.  Oh, and the little cane table looks so different.  Well done.  Is it to go on the front verandah?

Freddie, I didn't get back to you re the succulents, but it looks as though you've arrived with a solution with Stawka's selection.

Off to watch Frost, night all.

DEB

Re: My day

Freddie, given how much you are spending there, worth asking them if they have a card. Mitre 10 brought theirs in AFTER we had bought our kitchen from them ๐Ÿ˜ž

Amber Its the rotten bad tradies that give the others a bad name. We have a great plumber and sparky which make life easier. Mr B can does heaps himself which is a great saving. The council won't allow you to restump yourself and see what they used I can understand why.

DEB, I havent really bothered with roses until my last house and no where near as many as I have here. The climate here is hot and dry through summer ( not good for bushfires ) and the roses seem to love it. Yes, the table is not on the verandah with a potted geranium sitting on it. I am banned from putting any more tables out there, Mr B feels I have a table "fetish" 'cause tables keeping appearing out there lol

Debra, sorry I meant to mention your black boy rose, it's stunning :), the lace work is gorgeous as well. I have put it on my list for next yr, Mr B can buy me 1 for my b/day lol

This one has finally flowered, it's one of my favs, haven't a clue what it is called, anyone know pls?

Re: My day

I managed to get a couple of pics late yesterday, one of my "pot" roses - the pink one, and one called (i think) Apricot Dream. It tends to get straggly so need so be pruned hard!

I have a red rose that no-one can name too - it was growing in an old cement laundry tub outside the back door of the first house we bought 30ish years ago... stunning smell! No flowers on it atm, but I'll try to get a pic of it when it next blooms.
