My day

After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

Re: My day

Sounds good punchy, I am just roasting a piece of pork apple sauce, ham, and roast vegies desert will be plum pudding custard icecream and i've been told we must have trifle so trifle it will be.

We love our frameless shower with the bath tub gone and the wall hung vanity it makes the bathroom so much bigger.

Sounds like fun lurker i'm glad it's you and not me after the hassles with our bathroom. Woman LOL

Re: My day

A couple of friends have fitbits but I'm scared it would just prove how lazy I really am LOL

btw, I really like this thread. So gentle and friendly compared with what's going on out there.

Re: My day

I haven't been walking as much as usual. About 6km not 9. Different route that takes in a river walk. Nice in the later part of the evening while it is not too hot yet.

Christmas used to be with hubby's family. Now it is just us ๐Ÿ™‚

Family dinners on other days through the week.

Re: My day

I am going to replace our shower screen with a frameless one soon. We have a really small bathroom with a corner acrylic moulded shower. Hoping it will make it look a little bigger but more than anything I cant wait to get the old one out because of the mould under the silicone. I bought silicone remover years ago in the hope that hubby would redo it all but it never happened. So new screen it is!

Re: My day

This year OH and I are going down south to our other house, DYD has already moved in to it and she says SHE is doing Christmas lunch! Our DYS will also be there - this will be the first Christmas for about 4 years that we will be together  - usually work made it impossible.

She was talking to OH about getting a turducken but I hope he talked her out of it - there will only be 4 of us and she will end up eating it for the next 3 weeks! I have been ordered  asked to make the traditional family pav for our dessert. The problem there is that the last couple of years I have changed to making mini pavs, with a mixed berry sauce added at  serving.... now I dont know if I should make them (they are absolutley delicious and have been a big hit at every Christmas meal I've taken them too) or whether to make the one DYD wants

*sigh*

I hope you can save that fuschia - they are one of my fave plants but I can never seem to get them to survive more than a little while. It broke my heart to see hedges of them growing wild when we visited Ireland!

Re: My day

I've had Fuschias looking a lot worse than that that have come back so I think you should be able to get it back.

The problem will be if the host plant of the disease is still around and it gets transferred across again.

The other issue is, did a bird or something transfer it to the plant.

A good cut back and prune will do wonders.

Re: My day

Cold Xmas lunch for us, I don't eat pork so it's ham, chook and lamb, salad and trifle ( if I decide to make one ).  I don't really "do" Xmas but Mr B likes it, so I kinda go along with it for his sake.

Re: My day

I'm like you, Bushie, not such a Christmas person. When hubby's family did the big Christmas I went along but it was more a practical exercise...what to bring, cook, presents. I do like choosing presents, I try to think of the person and if I would like it, too ๐Ÿ™‚

Plus I wasn't ever really welcomed in by them. Much nicer just us. Hubby's mum is lovely and we have dinner with her later in the week.
