After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this

Good afternoon Dayers!
Had a little lie in this morning = bliss!
It's a tad warm here today... probably too warm for what I have been up to but I wanted to get things done!
I have been busy painting - just a couple of doors that needed repairs and repainting before we put this place on the market. It took me ages to fill a hole in one, but with just one coat of paint it doesn't look too bad at all! Second coats will happen later this afternoon / evening, particularly the outside garage door. ( I think I lost about a litre of water on that one!)
Enjoying the aircon

Chopping, slicing, dicing......exercising the muscles whilst taking off the weight?
My Garden Restaurant is open. The kookaburra is scoping out dinner. A pair of Peewees are seeking entrees.
I had my Red Elvis - dragonfly - visit a couple of times, scooping up his fill.

He's a beauty, and not camera shy at all seemably. Is that a Bottlebrush I spy?
I had a maggie at the other house, who I dubbed "Baldie" (he had lost the feathers on the top of his head). He used to come and inspect where I was digging in the garden. He often ate the exposed grubs and worms while I was tilling.
How's the fireman going with his hose and fittings. Again at the other place, 150 yard wide frontage and the taps on one side!!!!
Sandy, how annoying with the oven. Hope it gets sorted out to your satisfaction. Here's a thought....has the stove's oven knob been put on correctly?
Hiya, Freddie, b3, bluecat, punchy, and all others. Whispers to Lurker.

DEB we often sit on the front verandah, so I guess he has become used to used to us being there. Yep thats a bottle brush you have spied, I have planted 10 native trees around the front fence line to try to encourage the birds. They all need a good weed but the ground is too hard atm. Hoses are all ready for use this evening, apart from the black piping thats going up to our little orchard. My block is around 180 feet deep, so eventually we will install another tap 1/2 way up the back but this will do for now.
From what you have said, I get the impression your current block of land
isnt that small either
bty DEB, Mr B isnt a fireman lol

Yep, I realize he's not a real-life Firey. But your description way back......with him watering your plants with a full blast nozzle, gave me the idea of this title.
Similar to Freddie's Tapemeasureman.
Moved from 5 acres of peace and quiet to 1100sq metres with incessant traffic noise and overlooking aluminium garden sheds. Been planting bushes and small trees amongst the infernal palms and under the huge peppermint gum for 4 years both to block sights and sounds. I also try with the sound of cascading water from the ponds to calm the atmosphere.

lol DEB now it makes sense, carry on as you were
Your block is roughly the same size as mine, I wanted 1/2 acre but saw this house and fell in love with it. No traffic noise here, no street traffic, the main highway through my town no where near me, so I dont hear the trucks at all. The noisiest thing I hear is when my neighbours sheep cut up

What on earth does that mean? I hope you mean chewing the grass or similar. Or is that a term used when they're trotting along a path?
