Sandy I have had a few veggie disasters as well, some crops have done well, some not so good. The inclement weather hasnt helped and I have also learned from the mistakes I have made, which def wont be repeated next season.
The last of the timber for the new front steps was delivered today, looking forward to seeing them built, will be so much better than the cpl of planks we are using atm.
Hope everyone is enjoying their day, raining or not

Good morning all.
Rain has stopped at last in Melbourne.
Looks like it might be cool and cloudy today (not that I can see the sky yet, it's still pitch black outside
)
Have a good one.

Morning all. Very humid and overcast here with slight "spitting".
Gee these are tough times for some people. So sad.
Spent a lot of time outdoors yesterday in some gentle sunshine, tidying up after a windy night and gurni-ing an area . Should have done clothes washing!
The plants have responded to the weekend rainwater already. They are happy
But the lawns are now in need of attention.
Note to self: Don't bother with big tomatoes, just let the Tommy ones go for it where they want to come up. I have one to fight through to get to a tap and another poking its way through the slats of the garden bench near the "fishless" pond.
Going to attend to some other therapy this afternoon

Good morning everyone. Fresh here and there has been some rain overnight. Hope it clears up as it is my walking day.
Hope you're are OK freddie. Haven't seen you in since I've been home.
aps, our weather follows yours in the Latrobe Valley. Hopefully our rain has stopped for a while - as long as the sun doesn't come out to strong and cause that horrible humidity.
Deb, our tomatoes aren't going so well - we never seem to have much luck and we bought a plastic green house this year to try and help, however we have a self seeded tommy right against the bricks in stones that is flourishing. I love the little ones so hopefully they will ripen. Funny summer weather wise though.
Yes bushie, Frank has learnt not to put dwarf beans too close together and we think the tomatoes would have been better in the ground rather than pots. The rain has spoilt my petunias - sort of rotting the flowers.
Waves to everyone else - there's quite a few that haven't been in lately - real life must be busy
.
Have a good one everyone.

Good morning from "the wetlands"
Yup, it's still raining, not as heavy as yesterday morning more a constant "drizzle" with more to come I think.
I think tomatoes are a bit of a hit 'n miss, the best one we ever grew were when we lived in Wangaratta years ago. The summer that year has hot and dry and the tomatoes went insane, lost count of how many kilos we picked. The summer here has been to cold and damp for mine, have heaps of fruit on my vines but they arent ripening 😞
The next project here is getting the new front steps built, just waiting for the weather to fine up so we can begin, I can't believe how expensive new timber is these days.
I agree this thread has been quiet lately, I find I am reading CS less and less these days, just cant be bothered with the constant bullying/arguing on many of the other threads.
