My day

After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

DEB Most have been transplanted, a few had a prob where the Dr Huey root stock had taken over, they went into the bin. I tend to keep a lot of my roses, semi pruned, depends what variety they are and where they are planted.

Re: My day

Had a bit of a "dumb cluck" moment yesterday.

Let me give a bit of background.  I don't possess a mobile phone.  I have Landline only.  I am used to a handpiece being attached by a spiral cord to the phone.  Comfy chair, pen and paper handy for my angular but artistic masterpieces doodles.   Got it?

Well........talking "business" with my brother, got to the part where I had to go looking for some paperwork.

"Hold on, L....., got to put the phone down and go into the other room for that info,  won't take long".

He says, "I'll talk while you're searching".

"Go for your life, but I've got to go into the other room."

He says, "Deb, the phone I got for you has a separate handpiece, you can walk around with it."

"No, I can't"

I found out  that I can't walk and talk on a "mobile" at the same time.   And yet, I can walk and talk quite well with a person beside me.   Strange.

DEB

Anyway, I phoned him back later with the info.

Nice kitchen. 🙂

I am in Waikiki atm. Pearl Harbour today and dolphin swimming tomorrow.

Hope you are having a wonderful holiday, Azure.  We miss your wise comments on some threads.

You have missed a couple of very cold days here, but otherwise the weather has been lovely.

(Edit, I'm sure you haven't missed the cold at all).

Thanks Polks....... 🙂

I had the most fabulous holiday 29 deg most days, and was sorry to see it end but came home to good news, I have had an offer on my house, so ready to start packing!

I am going to build a new house a little further out of Brisbane than I am currently. Not country but bigger blocks and less housing, more bushland.

Hawaii is amazing and I am going back again. 🙂

I did bring some seeds back, Bird of Paradise and also attempted to import a Plumeria, beautiful deep red....... but sadly, Bio security couldn't find that particular variety on his allowed list so it had to be binned! Woman Surprised He was most apologetic too, lol and I won't be seen on border security..

Next trip I will take a list with me.

Re: My day

Welcome back and pleased everything is going well.

We grow plumeria here, was it a different variety?

You are back to lovely weather, but apparently the temp is going to drop a lot next week.

Re: My day

Pity about the Plummeria, Az,  I saw those deep coloured ones when we were over there but never even thought to attempt to get any plants at all past our biosecurity! It's hard enough getting any dead plants (i.e wooden carvings and the like) through.

Sick as a dog now.

Just a bad cold but it couldn't have come at a worse time Smiley Sad

I did manage to make the mini pavlovas today - about 50 odd bite size, and they turned out OK.

Tomorrow I'm supposed to do a couple of slices.... fingers crossed.

Re: My day

Good morning all xx

B3, hope you start to feel a lot better very soon, you are a brave soul doing all that cooking at the same time;  if you can get some extra rest it would help.

Love the bike Lloyds ...  Woman Very Happy .... reminds me of a time on campus riding from faculty to faculty back home at uni.

A lovely winters day here on the island today, lots of cloud but a fair share of blue sky as well.

Re: My day

The colour I wanted isn't available here sadly. It wasn't a case of teying to get it past biosecurity, lol but more hoping that particular variety would pass 🙂
It had certification and all the right stamps. Interestingly we had declared items that were not considered a risk.
Sunsets were out of this world and the water is an amazing colour.
I am still waking at 3am.

Oh well i guess I need to take the right list next time.

Re: My day

Afternoon all xx

It's been a very long day;   Mr. Tas and I have been busy since the crack of dawn;  before 10.30am, we had made a huge banana cake to put in the freezer, made and cooked two pizzas, taken all the masking tape away from the newly painted window trims, did the washing, mopped the floors and somewhere in amongst all of that, we had breakfast ...  Woman Very Happy

This afternoon we have been sorting out the music library and making preparations for the next concert.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend ....  Heart

Re: My day

How cold is it??!!

It's freezing here today - I'm so glad that yesterday was fine and warm -

DYD's Baby Barbeque went off really well Smiley Happy

I managed to get through the last few days of cooking, cleaning and general mayhem but everything looked lovely. Sadly I didn't even think to take pics of the tables - I was too busy getting all the food onto them!

She has soooo many friends, and was blessed with an amazing amount of wonderful gifts. This baby will want for nothing ❤️

Looks like I have broken the back of the cold lurgy I had too - but may have now given it to DYD Smiley Sad
