My day

After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

"I send Mr F out to our little old BBQ in the court yard to cook my BBQ if it's raining I allow him to do it holding the umbrella over MY STEAK"

Love that idea Freddie!

My day

A BBQ is on my list of things to buy as is a woodheater to be inserted into the space left by the gas heater when that was removed about 15 or so years agp. I need to get someone in to see if anything is needed for that to be done. I wouldn't mind going solar - I'll put that on the list after possum removal, guttering replacement and house exterior painting. Oh, and the bathroom, laundry and toliet need to have the floor covering replaced and could do with a lick of paint to spruce it up a bit. Always something that needs to be done, fixed or replaced.

I've been trying to make sense of what is supposed to be the study/sewing room. Gawd, such a collection of stuff! I even found a small box of things that belonged to my former ex and we broke up years ago! One of our girls can drop it off for me the next time they visit. I have also come across boxes of text books from when my kids were doing VCE - over 8 years ago. I'm not sure what to do with them. Due to their age, they wouldn't be relevant anymore but perhaps the Op Shop would be able to sell them. I don't think it would be worth my while trying to sell them on Ebay. I also came across boxes of cassete tapes and VHS tapes. I'm not sure what to do with them, either.

Attempting to declutter can be very worrisome. lol.

I've come to the conclusion to declutter you have to be brutal Bluey sometimes 'stuff' can become overwhelming when it's time to choose what to let go.

I hate it.

today we went to Doncaster & OMG  @ the crowds. I did not think we'd get a parking spot and OH was getting a bit hot under the collar, lucklily someone left and we grabbed their spot just before OH was ready to give up and go home.

it does seem as if people have gone back to shopping in B&M stores

My day

Good afternoon ๐Ÿ™‚

Didn't end up going shopping, the effort to get ready and the drive to get there seemed all too much, so it's just been a "do nothing" kind of day in front of the fire.

BC I am not a hoarder. so I am not much help to you, I hate clutter, so if I don't use it or need it, then out it goes. Mr B is the total opposite, he has all this "useful stuff" in his shed and study, I dont bother anymore, just leave him to it.

We bought a fairly good BBQ at the last house, in time it rusted away from the salt air, so we tossed it out before we moved here. The one we bought for this place, is fairly simple but practical, which was all we wanted, no fancy "gizmos"  I have a 900mm oven which more than takes care of anything large I want to roast. For Xmas I cooked a leg of lamb and a chook in separate baking dishes, which fitted side by side on one shelf leaving another spare shelf if I had needed to use it.

Freddie, did you manage to sort out your hot water service?

Bushy, yes we decided on the same as what we have now. Had we decided to go solar it would have meant all new pipes plus a sparky for the electrical part, so considering there's only the 2 of us we couldn't reallt see the extra expense being of benefit.

So it will cost $1,200 for the new HWS plus new pipes which became compulsary for new instalations  in the past 15 months, something to do with the temp of the water.

I'm happy with that, so he's going to install it tomorrow morning.

Origin energy don't do solar HWS Woman Surprised only the panel's on the roof solar.

I also spoke to my neighbour about her outdoor solar HWS she said her's cost about $4,500 Woman Surprised which she got when the Government were handing our rebates. She said with the rebates she got back it didn't cost much at all.
