After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this

Mostly I love my iPad. It's much more comfortable than the lappy when I'm lying on the couch. ![]()

Morning all. PD I bet those chooks got into a bit of a flap when the tree dropped.
Anyway, all is okay in the scheme of things. Just hope the guys have learnt something from it.
We had a tree taken down at the old property. Apparently, some grub/borer gets into the old stump and roots, and then travels to other sickly trees and attacks their root systems too. We ended up having to remove 2 more due to their weakening state.
Haven't been doing too much around here, too hot, too humid, too lazy.
I read about your new works going on in the garden, Bushie. Don't know a whole lot about strawberries. I remember a nearby market gardener turning his 5 acre plot into a farm of hydroponic strawberries at waist height, and then netting the whole area from the birds. Gosh, it must have cost him a lot to set up. But obviously worthwhile in the long run. Because it was still operating for over 15 years. Till the developers arrived, anyway.
I've seen some in old plumbers plastic pipe - both horizontal and vertical. I've seen old metal guttering along a fence with them too. And a 'living wall' Mum used to thin the bedding ones after fruiting. Tossing the parents and keeping the runners to form new ones.
And I recall Dad buying rocks for a rock garden - really expensive 'bush rock'. After 2 years, they couldn't be seen due to the growth of the plants. Could have been bricks, old tyres to get the same effect which was basically a mound of dirt in the lawn and not very "natural" looking.
Depending on the 'artistic appeal' of them, I put some rocks throughout the shrubs and beds for the little lizards to sun themselves and hide from the birds.
Well, that's about it from me for now. ***waves*** to the MIAs.

Morning DEB
Strawbs have all been sorted out, a space has been found to put them in the veggie garden. rocks are all sitting in a neat pile out the front, they can stay there for a while. Lawns have been mown ( not by me, I don't DO mowing ), corned beef is bubbling away, now enjoying a quick coffee before heading out the back to move pot plants.

***snap*** corned beef here too. Bit of vinegar, bit of brown sugar, couple of cloves. Nyum. Salivating.
