My day

After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

My day

Thanks for the heads up Lyndal xx

I was thinking of perhaps going to one of the gardening centres.   I noticed a few weeks ago that they had tossed some oldish pallets into a pile in a corner near a huge fence.  They looked a bit dilapidated and scruffy but at the time, I didn't think anything of it.   Wonder if they are trying to get rid of them or selling them off, I'll certainly make enquiries on the weekend.

Re Soucing pallets, we get ours from either Mitre 10 or Home Hardware, all very honestly obtained :), drove in and picked up so,e more today.  Tas do you have the use of a trailer? So much easier to cart pallets this way.  Most "raw" pallets are made from treated pine NOT hardwood   .... There are 2 schools of throught re using treated pine, if it concerns you just paint the inside part of the palled using NON lead paint  of course

Congratulations on the sale. Good luck with the renovations on your new home too ๐Ÿ™‚

Deb, I have a mock orange tree. It is strangling the winter roses every opportunity it gets ... it grows and grows and grows!

My weekend was busy. Live music over two days (punk bands, thrash metal bands, goth club DJs, then more punk)

My day

Brrrrr mornings are getting just a tad chilly, actually et the fire this morning, Winter is on it's way early I think. The days are gorgeous, so I guess I cant have everything and the bonus is not having to water the garden so often.

BG Moving is the pits, hope it all goes smoothly for you ....

Amber, I have a small Mock Orange in a pot, had it for a while but it seems to struggle along and not do much

Bought a bulb mixture at the German supermarket yesterday, not just have to figure out where they are going to be planted, not much room left atm

No, no pictures Bluecat, perhaps next week when it's all finished (for the second time).  The kitchen is twice as wide now and so different, hardly recognise it for what is was before, I love the 'whiteness' of it, so fresh and light.

Our cats have had to be locked out of the work area as well;  they are always trying to be "helpful" but in the end, out into the sunroom and their enclosure they have to go to play!

i was looking for the pictures -

have you posted them yet?

would love to see them Smiley Happy

My day

Good morning, I have had some rest from renos and was planning a "finish all the little bits" today but unexpectedly have a sick grandchild .....so ....... looks like not much will happen here.

I do have a small stitching job to do, I was sensible and bought sheer curtaining that was continuous but it still needs the sides stitched. Several people have said "no, it looks fine, just leave it" but I can't!

A visit to the nursing home at some stage when dad arrives to collect little miss............ went yesterday and in his usual manner, my FIL popped into another residents room to visit, to which she strongly objected. Woman Surprised

She told him to "get out you B***"

He turned and said "you are no lady" Woman LOL

I do wonder if people who lose their memory keep their real personality?

I watched something yesterday that links heart disease to dementia.

Good morning on this winter type day on the island xxxxxx

Indeed Bushie, that is good advice.  We don't have a trailer but we have friends who do and would collect them for us once we locate the pallets we find.   Might go to the "bunny" shop ....  Smiley Wink to see what they have and then back to the the gardening centre where the old pallets are and see if they would like to sell them as is.

You are right, the idea of the treated pine is bothersome but we'll certainly get some, as far as possible, 'ecological' stain or paint if they are (treated).

Hoping the move goes well for you too B3, don't envy you that I must say, it can be so stressful xxx

Have a splendid day everyone.

Morning all. I ordered some bulbs through Tesselar yesterday and look forward to planting them. I have an electrician arriving here between 11 and noon to install a couple of power points, after that, i'll be doing some housework and I might even take the dog for a walk.

It looks like it will be another stunning day, weatherwise. Enjoy your day everyone.
