My day

After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

That photo is great.  I love the history of England and I love it how they haven't bulldozed beautiful old buildings like they do here.

When I look at those windows I think of my nanna's house.

Yes. There are many beautiful buildings left. I have stayed in the "posh" part of town and now the revitalized East End. Love both areas. Where I am now is Clerkenwell.

That photo is at Camden markets, the buildings there were originally stables.

I am here for a week, Bushie. The weather has been a bit marginal but I bought a Union Jack umbrella.

From my room I can see the tops of St. Paul's, the Gherkin and the Shard.

Smiley LOLAww Richo.

Want to know what's happening in the gardening realm?  That is the "burning" question?

Well.....the blitz of early summer hit hard. The native plants, of course, appeared to take the searing sun well.  The bottle brushes, and grevilleas needle-like leaves are okay.  However, my pink bottle brush flowers, the real bee attractors, didn't cope well.

Instead of lasting about 7 days before becoming bedraggled, they now look very similar to a skinny sucked mango seed (and Phyllis Diller's or Rod Stewart's hair).

The new dahlia shoots are brown and shrivelled, I'll let them be until more growth comes forth and will trim later.

The fish stayed cool under the newly forming water lily leaves.Smiley LOL

Skinny sucked mango seed OR  a sucked skinny mango seed.????Ummm.  Well...... they truly sucked.

Okay, I've put the lippy on.  Hand washed the teaset.  Kettle boiling.

Oh, well...people have their reasons.

Cool day here after a nice cooler night - perfect for sleeping.  Some of those extra-ordinary chores just might get done today.

Have to practice putting the lippy on for that Renewal of Driver's Licence photo that's on the To-Do List. Smiley Happy

Good to hear that the garden is progressing well.  Oh...and noticed your flowering Banksia Rose and the playful dog in the Photos Comp.

My day

Good morning bushie and Deb.

The banksia rose is beautiful - used to have one at our house.  Does it grow by a cutting?

lol Deb - I never wear makeup now unless it's a really special ocassion.  I don't think it does much for me and my wrinkles now.  I did put some on and done my hair well for my driver's licence a few months ago and I am really pleased how it turned out.

Just been visiting friends near Stawell bushie.  I think that's up your way.  They are on a farm and the creek running through their property is dry.  They have plenty of tank water but they use creek water for their gardens.  They are pumping out of the dam at the moment.
