After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

My day

GOOOOOOOOOD morning ....  !

Looks like everyone is busy (bad bad Freddie on the scales ...  Smiley Surprised) xxx and ready for the coming new year?

We've gone down to a slow motion towards 2015, but the garden is looking good, apart from the potted colour we planted far too high in the soil and will change this afternoon .. not quite sure how that happened but the poor things are shrieking out for help and struggling to stay upright .. sigh!!   All in all though (*waves to Bushie and Aps*) all has improved.

Not the fuchsia though .....  Smiley Sad .... it gave up the ghost, mostly all the leaves went brittle and black and it looked ghastly.  Suspect the "treatment" we gave it made it impossible to save, though we did follow the instructions to the letter.   So, we have pulled it out, dug out all the soil below it, replaced it with new soil and compost and it's looking really good with one advanced flower seedling (one that is not too high) ... so now we wait to see what happens.  The old soil looked and acted like dust, so something had clearly gone wrong and here's hoping this will make all the difference.

Aps, we've purchased a compost bin, the kind that can be rotated on a spindle and we been putting our peelings etc into it.  We're on a roll (pardon the pun)  xxx

Morning Tas, Debra and BC

Sorry your fuchsia has gone to the big garden in the sky, gardening is a bit of a hit 'n miss, most plants survive, sadly some don't ๐Ÿ˜ž great re your compost bin, will be interested to see how it goes.

BC So pleased you had a nice Xmas, was wondering how you were going .... Sorry re losing your budgie, always sad when we lost one of our pets.

It's quite warm here also, I just put the new plants into the courtyard garden, apart from tossing in some bulbs in late autumn, it is now finished, just have to wait for everything to grow. Took a cpl of pics to post

My day

My budgie succumbed to old age, I think. The three remaining ones have been fairly quiet without their usual chatter but I'm sure that they'll be back to normal soon.

I have petunia seedlings that need to be planted but I am lacking in motivation lately.

The ex finally collected the rest of his belongings on the very last day as expected. Instead of feeling elated , I;ve been feeling quite down but I'm sure that that, too, will change soon, I'm looking forward to NYE. I'll be sitting outside - weather permitting - drinking champagne and listening to music. The cobwebs of 2014 will be swept away.

I have had a day lily [I think that's what it is] flower for the first time. Its a pretty yellow. I must take a photo of it.

BC I am not surprised you' re are feeling a bit low .... It's the end of an era and a promise of "what might have been" ..... I felt a bit like that for a few days after my divorce was finalised. I left him, after 20 yrs I couldnt wait to be rid of him BUT the divorce still left me feeling a tad sad.

Looking forward to seeing your daylily and your petunas when they flower.
