My mother phoned me this morning most upset at what she had been told by one of the other residents in her retirement village.

Days of Our Lives will be taken off air in Australia from Friday 26th.

She has been watching this show for as long as I can remember.

Easy fixed, let them start it again from the beginning.

Put the year it first aired as a little 'subtitle' in a corner somewhere and rest happy with a guaranteed audience.

Might be interesting to see the fashions and attitude of days/years gone by. 🙂

Yeah it really stinks.

I haven't watched DOOL for a while but know that it has been on tv for around 45 years and the audience has grown old with the show.

Even if it does get taken up by Pay TV it will exclude a lot of long time watchers.

My mum, for one, who is 83 won't be able to watch it any more as she can't afford Pay TV, let alone all those lovely sweethearts living in aged care who look forward to their dose of DOOL every day.

I am fortunate to be able to afford Pay TV so I can watch Y & R which went over when Channel 9 decided to drop it to have a show called The Catch Up in stead.

Anyone remember The Catch Up?

Back again. Went to visit mother yesterday and she and a couple of her friends in the retirement village are still rather upset about their favourite show getting the axe. Thankfully though, one of the friends has the Internet in her home and her son found a website where they could view the episodes. Whilst watching on a computer screen is not as good as lounging back in recliner and viewing it on a 80cm television it's better than nothing. 

Hopefully the son has the site bookmarked in such a way it's easy to find.

I started to watch DOOL when I was at Uni (real Uni, not pretendy ;)) When I had kids and was on leave from work I started to watch both Y&R and DOOL and preferred DOOL. Now, however, I prefer Y&R - the characters and sets and clothes are much prettier than those on DOOL.

Watched DOOL today and it was as dull as it was a few years ago. Roman's daughter was back I think - the one that was married to the bloke who her sister Sammie was also in love with. What happened to him? Sammi was still there being a nutcase. Where's Lucas?

My sister is devastated, she has been watching it for over 35 years and I am really concerned about her over reaction to this news. 😐
