Im so upset. I dont know what to do.
Have been working on this bathroom for a year.
I took this photo a month ago. Things in place but water not connected
Have had a few plumber problems but they have been fixed.
Today plumber was here connecting final pipes for the vanity. He did it and called me to see. We were standing in front of the vanity when there was a BOOOOM and the glass top exploded.
Plumber says "Oh dont know why that would have happened. Oh well, it was installed. Maybe you can claim it on insurance"
I dont know what to do. Im in shock and in tears.
Hubby bought this vanity 5 years ago. I know theres no way we can replace it.
And now im gonna have to pay a plumbers bill of fitting this vanity and then also to fit a new one

Neighbor just had new tiling in shower, asked me to talk to "tradie", I did. and asked that grouting be waterproof. Response: "I have been doing this for 30 years" ( ie, out-of -date)
When finished I tested grout, just like a piece of chalk. NOT WATERPROOF.
Suggested the "tradie" do as requested or payment not forthcoming.
He did. All it requires is a waterproofing addition to the grouting mix.
Tradies are not exactly up to date!

Never know John, his brother might be a mechanic. You could ask him to clean/adjust the points in the Mini ;\

Assessor just left.
Said in his 40 years, he has never seen a vanity like the one we had.
Said he will put all the paperwork through and see what the insurer decides to do.
Said, in most broken vanity bowl cases, a replacement bowl is supplied and fitted but in our case, he doesnt think they will be able to get a replacement bowl.
So, dont know what will happen.

does that mean he is out of date? :^O
There is one like that but clear glass on our local fb sellers page. The cabinet underneath is identical to the one in our main bathroom, seems fairly common.
Did the assessor indicate who he thought was at fault?

If that's the first he's seen they can't be too fragile or he would have seen more insurance claims for them.
He hasn't looked online either, there are loads of similar tops and units.
