MyGov website crashes as thousands seek Centrelink help amid coronavirus pandemic, Government backflips on claims cyber attack to blame
Government Services Minister Stuart Robert told Parliament there was no evidence of an attack, mere hours after he claimed a distributed denial of service (DDoS) cyber hack had occurred.
yes, blame nasty hackers when your cheapo system fails
now he has mud on his face (mud is not what i'd call it)

To my knowledge nobody has openly accused Stuart Robert of lying. It is possible that the original advice he received was that it was a cyber attack, and that advice was later confirmed to be incorrect. Of course some people will use these opportunities to take cheap shots at the Government and sink the boot in. If this isn't a time for all of us to unite and put our political hatred aside, then I don't know what needs to happen to us.

Centrelink should be opened 24/7 with rolling staff to cover the
influx of people needing assistance. It sux to see these people
lined up waiting hours to get help. They knew this was coming
they should have been more prepared than they appear to be.

Centrelink has, for years, been based on a model of making it as difficult as possible for its "clients".
It is unreasonable to expect a totally revolutionary 180 degree reversal in infrastructure and in attitudes from politicians and management inside 24 hours.

yep, after many years of outsourcing and staff reductions they now expect the offices to smoothly deal with thousands of people in a panic.
i suspect the staff will be going home suffering from panic attacks.

Government urging people to go home as lines form around Centrelink offices, minister Stuart Robert admits not anticipating demand
"No-one [should be lining up] unless you don't have a phone or you don't have internet access — you can ring up or you can go online," she told the ABC.
except the reason they are lining up is the internet and phone dont work!
